New! A Special Message from Mrs. Thompson--
Good Day All!!!
I wanted to let you know that items ordered/purchased for Square 1 Art and noted delivered to JDE, those items will be delivered to JDE on Monday, Dec. 6. I will be passing those out to your classrooms/students on Monday, Dec. 6 and into the next day, if needed. Please DO NOT have students come to my classroom for pick-up.
Track 1 Families-
I realize that Track 1 will have just tracked out that previous Friday. I would love to ask them to rush the orders, but that is not an option, so I will have pick-up times for Track 1 Families/Students ONLY:
MONDAY, DEC. 6 from 1pm-3pm - From the front entrance. You do not have to ring the bell.
TUESDAY, DEC 7 from 4:30-6pm - Pick-up from the gym door. Please stay in your car.
If parents are not able to pick up at these times, they will have to email me for a specific DAY other than Monday or Tuesday, and I will have those items ready on the PICK-UP TABLE outside the MAIN JDE ENTRANCE.
Reminder! Track 2 Pajama Day--Track 2 students will have their pajama day on Friday, December 10. A special treat will be provided by the PTA for all of their hard work collecting items for Backpack Buddies.
Reminder!Angel Tree for the Holidays-- Thank you for signing up to help our school community! Once you've purchased your item, please wrap the gift and label it (ex. A1, B3, etc.) and bring your Angel Tree gift to the school on or before December 6. Thanks!
Updated! Volunteer Sign Up/Renewal-- The December Sign Up Genius can be found here. Please do the following on the morning of your appointment:
Come to the main entrance and ring the doorbell. Make sure you bring your license with you.
Staff will direct you to the Care Center main entrance.
Please choose a workstation to complete registration. We have two laptops set up with instructions for completing the process.
It may take several weeks for the school staff to receive a status update from the vendor. We thank you for your patience in advance.
Changes in Your Child's Transportation--Pleasesubmit any changes in your child's transportation to your child's teacher in writing.
A change in transportation via email that is made late in the school day may not be seen in time for afternoon dismissal, but we understand that in the event of an emergency it may be necessary. If that is the case, please follow up by contacting the school via phone as well after you send the e-mail so that we can get the change to your child's teacher. Thank you!
YMCA Early Arrival/After School and Track Out Camp Information--Please explore these links below if you are interested in after school or track out care for your children.
To minimize the spread of COVID-19, our school follows all COVID-19 health measures required by the NC Department of Health and Human Services. Together, we can keep our students, staff, and community healthy in a safe and welcoming environment at school.
Please read updated guidance on returning to school after an illness here.
Remember, all students must stay home when sick, wear a face covering in school and should maintain as much physical distance as possible on campus.
Parents are able to check the metrics at any time by going to this website.
*Important--Please notify your child's teacher or me as soon as possible if your student is diagnosed with COVID-19, so we can work with health officials for confidential contact tracing and prepare a learning plan for your student.
Parents of students that may have been exposed will be notified immediately via phone call by school officials. Parents will be asked to keep their student at home if the call is made at night or early in the morning. Students will be sent home from school if school staff is notified during the day.
The Wake County Health Department will call impacted families in 2-3 days.
A follow up communication will be sent to the parents of exposed students with information about returning to school.

New! Spotlight on JDE Staff--
A HUGE thank you to everyone that supported our Raise Craze fundraiser. We raised over $40,000, which is AMAZING!
Given the success of this fundraiser, we’re able to make some adjustments to our 2021-2022 and add MORE money for new library books, campus beautification and teachers appreciation. These changes to our budget require a General PTA meeting to vote for these changes. If you are a member, please join and help us pass these changes to benefit our school.
