Bus Rider Registration for the 2020-2021 School Year
Find your transportation information on Home Base
If your student is assigned to a bus but is not a bus rider, please submit a Decline Transportation Form so we have the most up-to-date information.
Families can find up-to-date transportation information (including route number and stop location) in your student’s Home Base/PowerSchool account. Sign up for an account at your student’s school. More information on Home Base is available at www.wcpss.net/student-information.
Current students eligible for bus service – 2020-21 school year
Parents, if your student is enrolled, has a school assignment that provides for neighborhood or express school bus transportation, and wishes to use this service on a regular basis, go to this link Bus Rider Registration to apply.
Online Health Attestation Form
You are required to submit this form stating that you and your child will abide by all health and safety protocols for bus ridership.
Students are not permitted to ride the bus until this form has been submitted. You will need to submit a form for all of your children who plan to ride the bus during the 2020-21 school year.
If you plan on picking up your son/daughter from school through Carpool or as a Walker, you will need a Carpool or Walker tag. If you have already been issued a Carpool or Walker tag by JonesDairy Elementary, then no further action is required.
If you are going to be needing a Carpool or Walker Number/Tag (because you do not currently have one); please fill out the information on the form linked below. Mr. Rashleigh will have your new carpool tags ready to distribute to you on the first day you bring your child to school.
Backpack Buddies--We are preparing to re-start the Backpack Buddies Program at our school. This program provides students with supplemental food (commercially packaged and individually wrapped) that is easy to prepare and ensures they will have food to eat for the weekend. Students will bring home a bag that would fit into their backpack on Fridays. If your family is interested in this confidential program, please email our school counselor, Traci Johnson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
JDE Souper Can Drive February 15-March 5--Please support our food drive by donating soup cans to for the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina and Backpack Buddies.
Library Book Checkout--
*Students can go to Follett(Destiny) within their WakeID portal and place up to 5 books on hold at a time.
*Books will be pulled and ready for checkout 1-2 days after your holds have been place. Parents and students will get an email notification to let you know that the books are ready for pickup. Ex. If books are placed on hold on Monday, books will be ready for pickup by Wednesday if not sooner.
*Once families get an email stating books are ready for pickup, you may go to school and pick them up. Books will be in green bags labeled with the student's name found in the black bin with a yellow top outside the front office doors. If books are not picked up within 3 days, they will be removed from the bin. To avoid cross contamination, please do not place books on hold that you do not intend to pick up.
*Books can be returned at anytime to the tall green bin labeled JDE Book Return. Proper quarantine procedures will be followed when books are returned before they are ready for the next checkout.

No Fuss Fundraiser--Don’t forget to help us with our No Fuss Fundraiser! We are working to support JDE purchase items for both virtual and in person learning including: Raz Kids Reading Program, room dividers for social distancing, and technology grants for our teachers to purchase other virtual learning apps for the students. You can also send your Vic or Lowes savings card # or phone number used to set up your savings cards to firstname.lastname@example.org. Sending these numbers will only link your cards to our school. It will not give out any information.

Join the PTA--Please support the JDE PTA by becoming a member! The cost is $10 for an individual or $15 for a family (2 memberships). A portion goes towards national and state dues and a portion goes toward programs for students, teachers right here at JDE, and much more!
Every person who joins automatically becomes a member of both the North Carolina PTA and National PTA. JDE PTA members will receive special access to discounts at PTA events throughout the year. Members are entitled to National PTA membership discounts. Thanks for all your support!
