JDE Weekly Parent Update for January 24, 2020

Parents,

I want to wish our Track 3 students and families a safe and happy track out.  I would also like to welcome back our Track 4 students.  As always, thank you for your continuous support, and have a wonderful weekend!

Announcements:

  • Teacher of the Year--Please join us in celebrating Mrs. Kate Linstruth as our new Jones Dairy Elementary School Teacher of the Year!  Mrs. Linstruth has worked at JDE for several years.  She serves as the AIG teacher, a member of the JDE Instructional Leadership and Intervention Teams, she is the grant coordinator for the school, she leads the SCGBE Committee, she is a technology contact, and she serves as a mentor to other AIG teachers in the district. We are very proud of her accomplishments!

  • Registration for rising kindergarteners--If you have a rising kindergartener that will turn 5 before August 31, please go online to the WCPSS website to register them for school. E-mail Mrs. Kathy Brown, the data manager, at krbrown@wcpss.net if you need help or have any questions. 

  • Winter Weather Guidelines-- We still have several weeks of winter left, and we want to make sure our students stay warm, healthy, and safe. Please take a look at the attached Winter Weather Clothing Guidelines.pdf  to read more about clothing recommendations and school procedures in the cooler winter months. Thank you!

  • School Counselor Appreciation Week--February 3-7, 2020 has been designated as a week to celebrate our school counselor, Mrs. Traci Johnson. Please let her know how much you appreciate her hard work and dedication. 

  • Lost and Found--We have several jackets, water bottles, and shirts in our lost and found.  Please come in or ask your child to check the lost and found if they have missing items.  

  • Join the PTA--It is never too late to get involved!  If you would like to join the JDE PTA you may pay online at this site:  https://jonesdairy.memberhub.store
