JDE Weekly Parent Update for January 17, 2020


We had a wonderful time last night at our Family Fitness Night event. Thank you to Mrs. Pennington, the JDE PTA, and all of the families and staff members that came out to participate. As always, thank you for your continuous support and have a wonderful weekend!


  • No school on Monday, January 20--School is closed for staff and students in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. 

  • Jones Dairy Elementary Kindergarten Meet and Greet for incoming Kindergarten Students--Our Kindergarten Team will be holding a Kindergarten Meet and Greet for rising kindergarten students and their families. This is a great opportunity for families who would like to visit with our teachers before deciding to enroll or submit a transfer on January 23rd, 2020 from 5:30-6:30pm.  If you know of anyone that is interested in enrolling a kindergarten age child at JDE or someone looking to apply for a transfer to Jones Dairy Elementary for the the 2020-2021 school year please pass this information along!

  • Please link your Harris Teeter and Lowe's Foods cards--Thank you to those who have returned the form to link your Lowe’s Foods and Harris Teeter savings cards to JDE. If you haven’t done so please return it ASAP or email Theresa, our VP of Fundraising, at with your card information and she will get your cards linked. *Please note that linking your cards do not affect your fuel rewards or give anyone access to your store account.*

Bus Transportation Matters

  • Alternate bus stop requests can be submitted starting on Friday, July 19.  Please click on this link to submit a request:

  • Consider tracking your child’s bus by downloading the Here Comes the Bus Application. More information can be found on this site:

Carpool Procedures

  • As the weather begins to get cooler, please make sure that your student is prepared with their coats, hats and gloves (if necessary) to exit their vehicle upon arrival.  This will allow for students and parents to move smoothly through the carpool line.
