Honoring our Veterans

This Veteran's Day, we would like to thank those who have served and are currently serving our country.     We have displayed an American flag bulletin board to help celebrate this very special day here at HES.   Students and staff would like to show them that we are grateful for their service.   Please send in a photo and/or name of the special veteran in your family to be displayed on the bulletin board throughout the month of November.     Please submit your photos to your child's teacher who will them hand them over to our art teacher who will be displaying them on our American flag created from student's handprints.   Please remember to include your child's name on the back of the photo.  Please send an email to eweisz@wcpss.net if you have any questions.   Thank you!

Lunch with Students:

We are so happy to see so many parents coming to have lunch with their student.  Please use this time as a special one on one time with your child.  Students are not allowed to invite additional students to the back table when parents are her nor are parents allowed to bring food items to share with students other than your own child. This is for safety reasons.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Part-time IA for Pre-K class:

Our Pre-K class is growing, and we need an additional part-time Instructional Assistant.  This person would work Mon – Thurs. 7:45-11:45 daily.  If interested, please email Dr. Tillery your resume at dtillery@wcpss.net.

Holiday Cheer for Staff:

Shhhh…this year we will be organizing a holiday experience for our staff from Dec 1-Dec 6. Each day staff will spin a wheel and be tasked with some fun holiday chore or they may land on a space that simply says they receive gift #?.  These gifts are sometimes silly holiday items, holiday candy or gift cards.  We would greatly appreciate it if parents could assist by donating some gift cards to local eateries and/or retail stores.  There is a grand prize at the end of the week for the person that earns the most points.  It would be helpful if a few families combined resources to purchase a larger gift card.  Thank you in advance.

Kindergarten Registration:

Do you know someone who will be 5 years old by August 31, 2023.  It is time to register them for kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year.  Registration began on Friday October 14.  Please go to our school website/enrollment to complete the first step in the process.  Please pass this information along to friends and family.  Early registration helps in planning the correct # of classes and helps families receive their track requests.
