  • Publix Math Night - We had over 200 families participate last Thursday evening. Pictures of students and families exude genuine engagement and enjoyment.  Thank you Parent Engagement committee!
  • Two of our students submitted pieces of work for the Town of Wake Forest Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Contest. Laurel Gordon was awarded 2nd place for her art entry. Emerson Mistretta won 1st place for her writing submission.  Both girls were recognized at a special awards ceremony last night.  We are so proud of Laurel and Emerson.
  • Camp EXCEL - We have had 2 great weeks of Camp EXCEL for our 4th and 5th graders. Students are using an engineer design process to create ice cream and containers.  Parents and students are raving about it - a great experience. Thank you Julie Passafaro and Shani Brown.

These are just a few of the highly visible great things that are occurring each and every day at HES!  Thank you for all you do.

Message from Mr. McCabe, Principal HMS

Our current families recently responded to a survey inquiring about topics they were interested in to support their children.  We listened and on February 25th from 6:00-7:30 pm, we will have two workshops at Heritage Middle School available for you to attend. Come join us to learn about "TEACHING YOUR CHILD HOW TO DEAL WITH PEER PRESSURE" and "WAYS TO HELP YOUR CHILD DEVELOP ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS".  The workshops will be offered twice for 45 minutes each so you can attend both!  We are excited to offer you these workshops that will be presented by the WCPSS Family Academy.  In order to help us prepare for February 25th in advance, please use the registration link to register for the event by February 14th and provide your email address.  The email address will help us communicate with you in the event that the workshop schedule changes. Thanks in advance and we look forward to seeing you on February 25th!

 PTA News:

Please join us on February 19 for our Culver's Spirit Night from 5:00 - 8:00pm

Looking for a fun night to have with your kids - join us for our HES Family Dance Gala on March 6 from 5:30pm - 7:00pm. We will be having a silent auction as well as light refreshments. Tickets are $5.00 per person (maximum family purchase is $20.00) available to purchase online now through heritagepta.org or through the order form that will be in the Monday folder. Can’t wait to see you all on the dance floor!

We need your help - Are you interested in leading the PTA and continuing to help make a difference within the HES community? The following positions are open for the upcoming year - President, Vice President, Treasurer - If you would like more information on a specific position please let Selena Garrett know. Thank you for your consideration.

Our Wake Up and Read program is still going on!  We are collecting gently used children’s books. Please bring them to school and drop them off in the donation box in the main hallway.
