Today marks an end of an era for Heritage Elementary. After more than 15+ years at Heritage Elementary Ms. Crews is retiring from education. We are forever grateful to her for her dedication to the staff, students and families within our community. We wish her much joy in her retirement.
Although she will never be able to be replaced, we are excited to announce Ms. Austin as our new Assistant Principal effective January 2, 2020. As many of you are aware, Ms. Austin has been our Science Teacher for 20+ years during which time she has built wonderful relationships with staff, students and families.
HES Gives Back:
Thank you to all who supported HES Gives Back on Saturday December 7. It was heartwarming to witness our students taking so much care and pride in preparing items for others within our community. We should all be so proud of our students!
Publix Math Night/Spirit Night:
Please mark your calendars now for Thursday January 16 from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. for our annual Math Night at Publix. The purpose of this night is for parents and students to engage in identifying and practicing math concepts in real world experiences. Parents much remain with their children for this event. In addition, PTA is sponsoring 3 Spirit Night events at restaurants in the Publix Shopping Center this same evening – Rudino’s, Coldstone Creamery and Chronic Taco.
When we return to school on January 2 our Student Ambassadors (select 4th and 5th grade students) will be assisting us with carpool. We are asking that any parent utilizing carpool follow these guidelines:
- Students exit car from the driver side to avoid crossing in front of traffic.
- Students or ambassadors open vehicle door so driver does not have to exit car
- ONLY dismiss students when the line of traffic stops. Do not drop off students in midway through the carpool lane.
