Principal Message Week of March 5, 2023

Good afternoon Davis Drive Elementary families,

It is hard to believe that March is here already! I guess that goes along with the Spring-like rainy weather we have had :) This past week we talked about the character strength of Perseverance for the Positivity Project. It was wonderful to have students come up to me and share how they persevere with a learning task that has been difficult for them. I shared how perseverance is a skill that will serve them well even in adulthood. I wanted to share that the best part of any week for me is talking to your children and seeing how excited they are about learning. I learn from them each and every day! See below for information on our International Fair, it is going to be a great event.

No School - Tuesday, March 7th - Teacher Work Day

Carpool Reminders

Thank you for your help with keeping carpool processes safe and running smoothly.  We appreciate you staying in your cars to allow staff to unload students, too.  Please remember that students may only be unloaded from your car while in the designated unloading area in each carpool look and never on Davis Drive, Collins Road, or any other locations on campus.  Unloading outside of the designated areas is not directly supervised and is extremely dangerous.  We care about your children too much to ever have injury accidents happen due to unloading early.

The International Fair will take place on Friday, March 10th from 5:00-7:00pm.

All families are invited to attend. All children must be supervised by their parents/guardians for the duration of the event. Parking is limited, we encourage all families to walk or carpool! The International Fair will be an evening of educational exploration and exciting entertainment for our school community!

Order of Events:

4:50pm - Parade participants will line up in the front of the school, dressed in traditional clothing.

5:00pm - Parade begins (weather permitting).

5:30-6:30pm - Families move throughout the school from Continent to Continent.

6:30-7:00- Performances will take place on the stage.
