Principal Message Week of October 16, 2022
Good afternoon Davis Drive Elementary families,
It was so wonderful to see everyone that came out for the first in our Parent Partnership series for Back to School Night! It was wonderful to see so many parents in the building and gaining a better understanding of what learning looks like in our grade levels. For our parents that have both middle school and elementary students and you use carpool, please do not park in the middle school and leave your car to come pick up your child as a walker. Today there was a medical emergency at DDMS and an emergency vehicle could not get through to the front of the school because cars were unable to be moved (because drivers were not in them). This is a huge safety issue and we want to always keep students and staff safe. Thank you.
Arrival and Dismissal
DDE staff teach and share important information from bell to bell and it is important for students to be at school to gain the benefits of it all. Please remember the following processes that are in the parent handbook to protect valuable instructional time:
-
Any student arriving after the 7:45 bell must be checked into the Main Office by a parent
-
No students will be dismissed early after 1:30 for safety reasons
-
Thank you for calling the Office by 1:15 with transportation changes for that day
We know that mornings can be very challenging with children and feel free to reach out to your child’s grade level Counselor for helpful hints or suggestions at any time.
