DDE Principal's Message -- Week of March 15

Hello Davis Drive Elementary School families.  This is the weekly message for the week of March 15, 2020.  We have all been notified of school closures based on concerns about Coronavirus.  We wish for our families to be healthy and safe during this time. Our school system will provide information regarding details related to school closings and the reopening of schools.  Our school has no additional information at this time and we will rely on the school system to communicate updates.

Our PTA had arranged for one of our favorite performances by Roger Day to take place this coming week.  However, with school being closed, his performances and workshops have been canceled. Mr. Day sent a message to us about how much he enjoys working with Davis Drive Elementary.  He will work with us to try to reschedule.

Ms. Fielder offered the following:  For the next two weeks, our Media Coordinator, Mrs. Fiedler, will be hosting a daily storytime online M-F at 12:00 p.m. for K-2 students and 12:30 p.m. for 3-5 students.  This is in no way considered instruction - just a fun activity for our students to look forward to which will hopefully give parents and caretakers a bit of a break during the day!  Her storytimes will be posted on our media website - as well as tweeted through her Twitter account - @StephFiedler

Given that our students are going to be home for an extended period, now is the perfect time to try out some of our e-books at home!  Our students have been using these resources throughout the year during media time and are very familiar with how to navigate them. However, when they access these resources at school, they do not have to input login information.  Here is a list of resources for e-books and their login protocols for access from home:

If you have any problems logging in, please email Mrs. Fiedler at
