Davis Drive Elementary Principal's Message Week of December 8

Hello Davis Drive Elementary School families.  This is the weekly Principal’s message for the week of December 8.  It will be a busy day on Thursday for our 5th grade chorus students. The students will perform their musical for four performances on Thursday.  Daytime school performances will be at 8:00 am and 9:00 am. Evening performances will be at 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Mrs. Clark has worked hard with this group of students to divide roles and present shows that we are all looking forward to seeing.

The Readvolution promotion has ended and students meeting the 800 minute individual goal will find on their dashboard a code redeemable for 2 tickets to a Carolina Hurricanes game. Additional instructions to redeem tickets can be found Here

Please remember that we are not to use the Davis Drive Middle School parking lot and carpool circle as a pick up or drop off zones for elementary school students.  The situation is being monitored and it is important for our families to follow the established procedures.

On Friday of this week, our PTA has arranged for an assembly with “The Number Drummer.”  This performance was a huge success last year. Students actively participate in connecting math concepts to music concepts.  We have scheduled three assemblies so that all students will have an opportunity to participate. Thank you to our PTA for bringing this popular assembly to Davis Drive Elementary.

Our PTA is offering spirit nights  -- Holiday Project Spirit Nights - AR Workshops Cary --  12/3 -12/4 and 12/9 - 12/10. Please sign up online; both youth and adult projects available. These are not limited to DDE so if you want to attend, sign up early! Make a holiday gift!  If 10-19 guests attend the event, AR will give back 10% and if 20+ attend, AR will give 20% back.

Please help your child arrive at school on time.  It is best to arrive at school before 7:35 am each day.  Arrival before 7:35 ensures that students are prepared for school and is a huge help for traffic in our parking lot.
