DDE Principal's Message for Week of June 2, 2019

Hello Davis Drive Elementary School Families.  We have seven school days remaining in this school year and we want your child to attend until the end of the school year.  It has been an incredible year of learning for all of us.  As we approach the summer months we want to extend a word of thanks for sharing your children with us and allowing us an opportunity to be involved in your child’s education.   We are all learners for a lifetime and we continue to grow intellectually, socially, and emotionally.  A very special thanks is extended to our students for their hard work.  Our recent End of Grade testing was very well organized and our students demonstrated excellent strategies in taking the tests.  We have a few make-up tests to be given this next week.  Results for the tests will not be available immediately and parents and our school will received scores later in the summer.  I assure our families that our staff truly loves their work and it has been a pleasure to work with you and your children.  Our PTA leadership is amazing and dedicated to our school.  While the summer is almost here, we expect our students to continue learning through reading, recreation, summer camps, travel, and spending time with family.  I cannot emphasize enough the value of reading over the summer and being involved in solving real life academic skills for all subject areas.  Be sure to maintain healthy life styles and look for experiences involving the arts.  I may from time to time send messages to families in the summer, but I wanted to be sure to extend a thank you to all for an incredible school year.
