Carpenter Families,

I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe winter break! Tracks 1, 2, and 3 are back to school tomorrow- we can’t wait to see you!

Kids Heart Challenge 2024

I am excited to share with you that I’ve accepted the American Heart Association’s Principal’s Challenge. I’ve committed to being prepared to save a life by learning Hands-Only CPR*, learning how to take care of my heart and brain, and raising funds to help kids born with special hearts!

I’m really excited and want every one of our staff, students and families to join me. You can by completing Finn’s Mission on the AHA Schools App or heart.org/schools. YM SE KHC 2023-2024 WO-32243: Carpenter Elementary School - Kids Heart Challenge - American Heart Association

Learning how to save a life, take care of our hearts and brains and help kids with special hearts all at the same time! I am so excited for us all to help create a community of lifesavers.

Coach Schmidt will be sharing more information with the students and share about the fun activities that will go along with this challenge!

*Hands-Only CPR, especially if performed immediately, can double or triple a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival.

Arrival

We encourage all parents who drive their children to school to please use the carpool loop to drop their child(ren) off instead of parking.  If you feel you must park and walk your child to the door.  It is imperative that you use the crosswalk.  It is very dangerous to have parents and small children crossing the parking lot at multiple places throughout the parking lot as cars are driving through.  The safety of our families is the utmost of importance to us.  Please help us with this during arrival time.

Also- please remember that learning starts at 9:15, so please arrive before this time to give your child time to walk to their class to be ready to learn with their class.

Lost and Found

With the cooler temperatures, our Lost and Found has grown! There are many jackets, sweatshirts, hats, and water bottles without an owner.  If your child is missing anything, please have them check the lost and found this week.  Our lost and found is located on the stage in the gym.  All items still left at the end of February will be donated

Bring IDs

Please don’t forget to bring your IDs when you are coming to pick up your child for an appointment or to leave early for any reason.  Also- an ID is necessary if you are on campus for any reason.
