Pleasant Grove Families,


Thank you for your support this year! On behalf of all the staff members at Pleasant Grove, I hope you and your family enjoy an amazing summer!


The PTA will have a brief virtual meeting on June 13 at 6:30 PM to vote on a new President for next year and to approve a summer budget.  All parents who have joined the PTA are encouraged to attend.  Use the link copied below to join this Zoom Meeting:

Devices:  If your child is withdrawing from WCPSS, please return your student’s laptop to the school.


Report Cards: If your child was absent on June 10 and you did not receive their report card, you can pick it up from Pleasant Grove between 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM Monday – Friday during the upcoming weeks.


Library Books: If you discover any remaining school library books hidden under beds, behind furniture, and in the back of the car this summer, please return these books to the school.




Next year, the cost of breakfast will be $1.50 and the cost of lunch will be $3.00.  After July 1, families can apply for free or reduced-price meals online by visiting

Welcome back activities for the 2022-2023 school year will occur on these dates

  • August 25: Pleasant Grove Kindergarten Kick Off/Popsicle Playdate, 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM
  • August 26: Grades 1 – 5 Meet the Teacher, 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM
  • August 29: First Day of School


Literacy at Home:  Early literacy skills are extremely important for a student to grow and develop into a proficient reader.  Use THIS LINK from the Department of Public Instruction to get specific ideas that you can use at home to support the growth of your child’s literacy skills.


Kindergarten Registration:  Now is the time to register your child for school if they will turn 5 by August 31.  Click here for more details.


Before/Afterschool Care:  Raleigh Parks & Recreation will provide on-site before and after school care during the 2022-2023 school year.  You can contact Parks & Rec at 919-996-6165 or visit the Youth Programs link for the City of Raleigh.  More details about City of Raleigh programs is online at

2022-2023 School Calendar:  Click this link to view the 2022-2023 traditional school year calendar.  The first day of school is August 29.  Be sure to take note of the six early release dismissal days during the 2022-2023 school year when students will dismiss at 1:45 PM.
