June 7 Weekly Message
What will this week of school look like:
In-Person Students will complete Field Day on Monday, June 7.
On Wednesday, June 9, we will have celebration activities for our 5th Grade Students outdoors from 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM.
Thursday, June 10, is the last day of school. Report cards will be emailed to families at dismissal.
Any families who have been issued a hotspot from WCPSS should return it to Pleasant Grove by June 10. Textbooks and math materials issued to students in Grades 1 – 5 should be returned to school by June 10 as well.
Students should continue to bring water bottles to school each day because we are not allowed to use water fountains at this time.
5th Grade Promotion Celebration: For the convenience and safety of families due to COVID-19 we will honor our 5th Graders with an outdoor celebration between 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 9, by the K-2 playground.
This is an informal, floating event for 5th grade students. We will have social distancing safeguards in place to accommodate in-person and virtual academy students and families. Ms. Hanson, Mr. Mercer, and Ms. Oberdorf will be eager to see all students and to celebrate this special moment of completing elementary school. We are proud of your child’s hard work and efforts. I hope to see you and your child at this event!
Report Cards: Final Report Cards will be emailed to families on Thursday, June 10. If you do not have an email address on file with the school, the report card will be issued to you by U.S. mail at the address on file with the school. If your address has changed recently, please contact the school so that you can receive your child’s report card.
Kindergarten Registration and New Students for 2021-2022: Have you registered your child for school yet? We are filling up seats now. Make sure to get registered and let your neighbors know so they can get a seat for their child too. All families with children who will turn 5 before August 30 are encouraged to register for Kindergarten. Families can start the registration process online. Click here for more details.
Returning Instructional Materials: Students in Grades 1 – 5 have several types of materials and books that they need to return to Pleasant Grove before the last day of school. Click this link to read more and see pictures of the specific items to return.
