First Week of School Message

Hello Pleasant Grove Families! We look forward to welcoming you and your child to school.  Our First Day of School will be Monday, August 26.

Parents:  If you plan to park and walk your child into school on the first morning, please be patient and safe as you look for parking spaces.  If you pick your child up in carpool during the afternoon, please remain in the carpool line.  If your child will ride the bus, be at your bus stop early and be patient as new students are getting use to riding a bus and routes are being adjusted.

School Hours: 8:45 AM - 3:45 PM. Students should be in the classroom by 9:10 AM.

Buses: Visit https://www.wcpss.net/busrider for information about bus routes and the Here Comes the Bus app. The contact number for WCPSS Bus Transportation is 919-805-3030.  Each afternoon we post bus departure times on our school bus twitter @pgesbuses.

Carpool:  Carpool enters and exits the school at Pleasant Grove Church Road.  Your child should exit and enter your car from the passenger side. Pull all the way down to the furthest point to load/unload.  For safety, do not attempt to pass around cars.  If you need more time with your child, pull down to an open parking space and then walk your child to the front entrance.  You can obtain a carpool tag from the school office. If your family is returning to Pleasant Grove you will use the same carpool number from last year. Pleasant Grove does not have any students who walk to school.  All students should use either carpool, bus, daycare van, or Parks & Rec.

Meals: Lunch full price is $2.75 and breakfast full price is $1.25.

Kindergarten Staggered Entry Days:  Monday, August 26 – Thursday, August 29.  If you do not remember the Staggered Entry Day assigned to your Kindergartner contact the school. Kindergarten Meet the Teacher will be Friday, August 30, 2 PM - 2:30 PM

Student/Parent Handbooks:  Please review the WCPSS and Pleasant Grove Handbooks that come home with your child this week to understand expectations for attendance, behaviors, buses, carpool and school.

School Communications:  School messages are sent each weekend. Text YES to the code 67587 to receive school texts.  Adjust how you receive school communications at http://go.schoolmessenger.com.

Cafeteria: Families can make electronic payments for meals online at www.mySchoolBucks.com with your child's Student ID number.  Families can also apply for meal benefits online at www.myschoolapps.com.  After October 7, families who have not reapplied for meal benefits will lose access to their benefits from last year.  Apply online at www.myschoolapps.com.  En octubre, las familias que no hayan solicitado los beneficios de comidas perderán el acceso a sus beneficios del año pasado.  Solicite beneficios de comida escolar en línea desde las privacidad de su hogar, ó en cualquier lugar con una conexión de internet.
