This Week at Pleasant Grove:

  • End of Year reading assessments begin
  • Single Subject Acceleration assessments occur 5/14 – 5/20
  • Field Day occurs on Friday
  • The Positivity Character Trait is being present and giving others my attention

Thank you!  On behalf of all the staff members and teachers of Pleasant Grove I express heartfelt thanks and gratitude for the wonderful hospitality, kindness, and treats shared during Staff Appreciation Week last week.  It was amazing!  We are thankful to work with such awesome students and such a caring school community!

mClass Reading Assessments: Students will meet one on one with a teacher to complete these assessments to measure their reading growth. The assessments focus on how students can identify the basic elements for knowing letters and decoding words in Kindergarten and extend to having students read texts and answer comprehension questions to assess their understanding in the older grades. Parents will receive a report about their child’s progress when report cards are issued at the end of the year.

Field Day: Friday, May 17.  Field Day Volunteers are still needed.  This is going to be an awesome day for students.  Click here to help if you are already registered as a school volunteer and can help.

Bus Transportation 2019 – 2020

Current bus riders eligible for bus transportation: If your transportation eligible child will be riding the bus from the same address to the same school next year, you do not need to take action. If you need to update your bus service, please go online.

  • Up-to-date transportation information is available in your student’s Home Base/PowerSchool account. More information on Home Base is available at www.wcpss.net/student-information.
  • If your student is assigned to transportation but is not a rider, parents are to submit the online form so that WCPSS has the most up-to-date information.
  • Parents do not have to register for transportation services if their student has special transportation as a related service.

Cut off Dates to Ensure First Day Service: Any transportation eligible family who needs to make a change or request service for 2019-20 is requested to submit information by July 29 for Traditional calendar schools to ensure service on the first day of school.  Requests received after this cut off date will be processed in the order received and WCPSS Transportation will make every effort to provide service as quickly as possible.

Bus Routes: Bus routes will be posted to the web and will be communicated to families via School Messenger by August 16 for Traditional calendar.
