Groundbreaking for Parkside Middle and Wake Early College of Information and Biotechnologies

School board members, county and city officials, and school community members gathered to break ground for the new Parkside Middle School and Wake Early College of Information and Biotechnologies (WECIB) combination building.

The new facility will house both schools separately, and is expected to open in 2026 with almost 300k square feet of innovative learning space. Students attending WECIB will be able to earn credits toward an Associate degree from Wake Tech Community College, possibly even completing degree requirements before graduation.

At the ceremony, guests heard from Principal Abby Stotsenberg, Superintendent Taylor, Board Chair Chris Heagerty, Morrisville Mayor TJ Cawley, County Commissioner Vicki Adamson and students Shreya Singh and Tyler Manser.
