Principal's Message October1, 2019

Parents/Guardians,

Time flies when you are having fun.

It has been a phenomenal five weeks of school.  The students are just now becoming acclimated with the new teachers, curriculums and schedules they have compared to last year.

We are currently setting the stage for year long Professional Development focused on academically growing our students and preparing them to be 21st century digital citizens.  I am excited about the time, focus and dedication our staff is taking to ensure that each child is better everyday.  Please make sure to follow us on Twitter @HollyRidgeMS and @HRMSPrincipal1 for all the latest updates and great learning taking place in our building.

Just a few reminders as we move into the month of October:

  • The first school dance of the year is set for Friday October 4 from 3:30-6:00.  Permission slips must be returned before Friday in order for students to attend.
  • Custodial Appreciation Week is Oct. 1-5.  If you see our wonderful, hard working staff let them know how much you notice the work they are doing to keep our building spotless.
  • Kwame Mbalia, author of Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky, will be visiting Holly Ridge on Wednesday October 16, 2019.  More information can be found on the HRMS Homepage.
  • The next PTA meeting is scheduled for Tuesday October 8 at 6:00.  Please join us.
  • The next Coffee with the Principal will be Monday October 21, 2019.  Please mark your calendars as more details on time to be announced.

As always, we greatly appreciate your continued support for Holly Ridge Middle School.
