Attendance Policy @ HRMS

Holly Ridge Middle School will be implementing a school-wide Tardy Policy effective November 1, 2017. Showing up for school has a huge impact on a student’s academic success starting in kindergarten and continuing through high school. Even as children grow older and more independent, families play a key role in making sure students get to school safely every day and understand why attendance is so important for success in school and on the job.
  • At 4 unexcused tardies, students will receive a copy of tardy letter to take home as well as parents will receive a letter by mail.
  • At 6 unexcused tardies, students will be assigned a 2 day administrative lunch detention, a letter with the assigned dates will be given to the student and mailed home to parents.
  • After accumulating between 7-10 unexcused tardies student's will be referred to his/her grade level guidance counselor.
  • After accumulating 11 or more unexcused tardies student's will be referred to the school social worker.
Let's work together to ensure every student at Holly Ridge Middle School succeeds.
