Parent Academy
Wake County Parent Academy is offering a class on helping your child Develop Good Homework Habits on September 30 via Face Book live from 5:30-6:30.  The link to use to attend is 

Bike Riders
Students may only ride bikes to school if they are in the 4th and 5th grade.  Please assist us in this policy to ensure we have space for all the bikes in the racks.  We do not have additional space for any additional bike racks.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Curriculum Night

Curriculum Night is designed as an opportunity for parents to hear from their child’s teacher about what’s ahead in the year to come.  Even more important, Curriculum Night will give parents first hand knowledge about real strategies that can help your child be successful this year.

Curriculum Nights will be virtual!  Teachers will share links via email prior to the Curriculum Night dates.  Identical sessions are repeated twice to allow families to attend multiple grade level presentations.

 

Tuesday, September 28th Grades K-2

K - 5:45 - 6:45 (One session only)

1st & 2nd - 6:15-6:45 or 6:50-7:20 (Identical sessions are repeated twice to allow families to attend multiple grade level presentations.)

Here Comes the Bus
WCPSS Transportation provides bus rider families with a free bus tracking system called Here Comes the Bus

Here Comes the Bus translates GPS data into an easy to use customizable map that works on a computer, tablet or smartphone. The app allows you to see where the bus is and how close it is to your stop. 

Get started with Here Comes the Bus at https://herecomesthebus.com/getting-started/. You will need the district code and your student’s ID number to sign up. The WCPSS school code is 67500. For your smartphone or tablet, download the Here Comes the Bus app from the App Store or Google Play.

Health and Safety Procedures Reminders

 

If your child was out due to a symptom of illness, he/she will need to follow WCPSS When to Return Guidelines.  

https://www.wcpss.net/whentoreturn  That means he/she needs to have at least one of the following to return to school after experiencing symptoms of illness:

 

  •     A negative PCR COVID test (not a “rapid antigen” test)
  •     A doctor's note listing an alternate diagnosis (AND it has been at least 24 hours since you had a fever without the use of fever-reducing medicine AND you have felt well for 24 hours).
  •     10-day quarantine without symptoms.

 

Students may return if:

 

It has been at least 10 days since they first had symptoms (AND it has been at least 24 hours since they had a fever without the use of fever-reducing medicine AND symptoms are improving, including cough and shortness of breath).

 

-OR-

 

Symptoms Not Associated with COVID-19

If you are experiencing symptoms not on the NCDHHS COVID-19 symptom list (like ear ache, stomach ache), you may return to school after you have gone at least 24 hours without a fever or the use of fever-reducing medicine.
