Sept. 22, 2021: Information regarding hoax threat

Wake Forest Middle School Families,

To keep you informed, we would like you to be aware of a situation we addressed today. First, know that all students are safe.

This morning we learned of a message posted on social media that implied a threat had been made against our school. The Wake County Sheriff's office quickly investigated and were able to determine the student who shared the threat. They have determined that the threat is not credible. In fact, similar hoax threats have been making the rounds at several schools over the last couple of days.

While investigating this issue, we extended our first period to keep students in their classrooms. The rest of the school day will proceed as scheduled.  Additional law enforcement officers will be on campus throughout the remainder of the school day.  Wake County Sheriff’s Office has served as the lead for this investigation.

Again, there was never a credible threat against our school. All students are safe at this time.

Thank you for your cooperation and your continued support of our school.

Sincerely,

Dr. Christopher Bradford

Principal
