Read Across America Day 2020

 Dr. Seuss characters

DRESS UP AS YOUR FAVORITE DR. SEUSS CHARACTER

Monday, March 2, 2020

Dr. Seuss Day is a holiday celebrating the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel on March 2nd, otherwise known by the pen name by which he authored children's books: Dr. Seuss. During the 1990s, the National Education Association (NEA) advocated for a day to celebrate reading all over the United States. In 1998, it started Read Across America and decided to hold it on the same day as Dr. Seuss' birthday. Across the country, thousands of the schools, libraries and community centers participate by bringing together kids, teens and books.

All Olds Elementary School staff and students are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Dr. Seuss character on Monday, March 2, 2020 for the fun-filled day of activities and reading in honor of Dr. Seuss.
