Dear RMS Families-

I hope everyone has had a great week!  There is a lot of important information being shared this week so please read carefully.  Here are the updates to share this week:

1. A representative from North Wake College and Career Academy will be coming to meet with 8th grade students on tracks 1 and 3 on Monday November 18th.  Students should sign-up in student services If they are interested in coming to the meeting to hear more information.  If you have questions, please call or email your child's counselor.

2. I would like to take a moment to remind you of important morning carpool procedures and expectations.  Student should have their belongings organized and prepared to exit quickly to ensure the line continues to flow smoothly.  Additionally, parent please limit your phone use as you’re going through the carpool lane.  We recently almost had a fender bender because a parent was on their phone and not paying attention that the car in front of them had stopped.  We appreciate your help in keeping our students safe.

3. Parent/Guardians of 7/4 students, Mrs. Epps will be leading the Signs of Suicide Prevention Lesson Thursday Nov. 7. This lesson is in conjunction with the healthful living Mental and Emotional Health Unit. Please contact Mrs. Epps should you have additional questions.

4. Congratulations to our athletic teams on their victories this week against East Wake.  The football and volleyball teams are now 6-0 and soccer is 4-2 on the season.

5. We have our final sports games of the season this coming week. All of these are at home against Wake Forest.  Volleyball and Soccer will play on Tuesday.

We are excited to share that our football game will be our second annual evening game under the lights at our school.  We anticipate our largest crowd ever so we would ask you to consider the following:

a. Please consider carpooling for drop-off and pick-up of students

b. If you live behind the school and walking is an option please consider that (Only if parents are supervising because it will be dark out.

If you do plan to park please be prepared to park on the basketball court, side of the school, or around the back of the school for overflow areas that we are sure will be needed.

We appreciate your flexibility and understanding for this exciting opportunity.

6. Next week, we have our RMS Spirit Week.  Here’s what to expect each day:

a. Monday – Wacky / Tacky Day
b. Tuesday – Twin Tuesday
c. Wednesday – RMS Spirit Day
d. Thursday – Throwback Thursday
e. Friday – Show your support for your favorite college/pro sports team.

There will be a pep rally on Wednesday afternoon.  Please note this is for students only.
