October 18, 2019

Dear RMS Families-

I hope everyone has had a great week!  Here are the updates to share this week:

1. There is no school on October 21st because it is a teacher workday.

2. October is National Bullying Prevention Month and next week there will be a variety of activities happening at RMS to promote this initiative.  Click here to find out more specifics or you can visit the Rolesville Middle School site for a calendar of events.

3. Be sure to visit our school website for a wealth of information and resources to support your child at home.  There are many resources for math and language arts that you will find helpful for you and your child.  They can be found by going to our school website>Parents>Homework Resources.

4. A representative from North Wake College and Career Academy will be coming to meet with 8th grade students on tracks 2 and 4 who are interested in learning more about their early college program.  Announcements will be made daily next week requesting that interested students sign up in Student Services.  The representative will meet with students on tracks 2 and 4 on Tuesday October 29th.  There will be another meeting for interested students on tracks 1 and 3 in November (date TBD).  If you have questions, please call or email your child's counselor.

5. Track 4 report cards will go home next Friday.  Math EOG scores for the 2018-2019 school year will also be included.

6. Congratulations to the volleyball and football teams on their victories against Wakefield this week.  Both teams move to 4-0 on the season.

The soccer team will play their make-up game against Wakefield next Tuesday.  That is a home game and we encourage students to come out to support the team.

All three teams are also playing at home next week as we take on Zebulon.  Soccer and volleyball will play on Wednesday and Football will play on Thursday.

Remember that cost is $5.00.  Please remember to send in money that morning with your child.  It makes it difficult when we must call students down during the school day when money is dropped off.

Information From the PTA:

1. The Step It Up Fundraiser has ended and our RMS families have rocked it! The PTA will receive over $22,000 as a result of your efforts.  That will go a long way in supporting the students at RMS! The kids will be able to celebrate their success at their respective Day of Awesomeness on 11/1 or 11/22. Thank you so much for the support!

2. We have added a new red hoodie to our Spirit wear offerings. Spirit wear makes great a great holiday gift! Ordering information is available on our website. We will also be selling Spirit wear at the November 6th home football game.

3. PTA meetings will now be on the third Thursday of the month. The next meeting is at 11/18 at 6pm in the Media Center.  Please join us!

4. Don't forget to join us on the Remind app by texting @RMSRAMSPTA to 81010 to receive important RMS PTA updates.
