Family Update: Return to In-Person Instruction

Greetings Oberlin Families,

On Monday, March 22nd, the WCPSS School Board voted to transition from Plan B to Plan A for all Face-to-Face students, beginning Thursday, April 8th, 2021.   All families currently on Plan B, that remain in this option for In Person learning in the building, will begin daily, in person instruction on Thursday, April 8th, 2021.  (Please note, Wednesday, April 7th is now a Teacher Workday.)

In addition, the WCPSS School Board has reopened the Virtual Academy window. This will provide opportunities for any family that would like to shift from In Person learning to the Virtual Academy or any Virtual Academy family that would like to shift to In Person instruction. You can email a request directly to your child’s grade level administrator below. All requests must be submitted before April 1st, 2021.

Due to the high volume of schedule changes that may be needed for students returning from Virtual Academy to In Person, or shifting from In Person to Virtual Academy, confirmation of your student’s schedule may not take place until April 14th. If you submit a request to change, please note that staff will review the current schedule and will provide the changes so students can begin with the new schedule by April 19th.  Please note that if you do decide to change your child’s current plan, it is very likely that your child’s teachers and team assignment will need to change.

Please know that we look forward to continued partnership with our Oberlin families and doing all possible to ensure a strong conclusion to our school year.

Please contact the respective grade level administrator if you prefer to change your child’s current plan (either from Virtual Academy to daily Face to Face OR from daily Face to Face to Virtual Academy) by April 1st, 2021.
