Literacy Curriculum Night & Open House
We are eager to welcome you to our Literacy Curriculum Night and Open House (Tracks 1 & 2) at Alston Ridge Elementary School on Thursday, August 17! Our classroom educators will present Literacy Curriculum sessions for families of students on ALL tracks. In-person and virtual sessions will be available. These sessions will inform families about the important academic concepts and curriculum materials within a grade band and provide strategies for supporting student learning at home. Open House will allow families to deepen their understanding of the routines and learning within their student’s individual classroom. All Open House sessions will be in person.
Literacy Curriculum Night/Open House Schedule
5:45 p.m. Doors Open-Welcome Families
6:00 p.m. Curriculum Night Presentations (in-person & live virtual option - 45 minutes)
6:55 p.m. Tracks 1 & 2 Open House, Session 1 Begins (in-person option ONLY)
7:25 p.m. Tracks 1 & 2 Open House, Session 2 Begins (session repeated for multi-grade families)

Complete the Participation RSVP link by Wednesday, August 16. Thank you for completing a RSVP for each student.

Parking will be limited. Please allow additional time to park and transition to classroom locations.

Childcare

School-aged students are welcomed to return to school—rotating and academic specialists and instructional assistants will provide supervision. Families will bring students to a room assigned for the student’s grade. A G-rated movie will be shown.

Childcare will be provided through our partnership with the YMCA/Cary Teen Council for children ages 2-4. Registration for childcare is required in advance—please Register/RSVP.
