Good afternoon, this is Steve Mares, principal of Athens Drive Magnet High School, with a message for Friday, February 25th. THANK YOU FOR OUR INCREDIBLE CURRICULUM NIGHT AND FRESHMEN OPEN HOUSE: Thank you to all our families who attended our Curriculum Night and Freshmen Open House last night! It was great to share curriculum information and for our families to have the opportunity to talk with teachers about course offerings. There was a very positive vibe, and it was great to meet all our rising JAGS! I am proud of the school family we have and thank you for helping Athens Drive be a beacon of excellence!


CURRICULUM NIGHT AND FRESHMEN OPEN HOUSE INFORMATION: Thank you to everyone that joined us for our Curriculum Night and Freshmen Open House last night! For those families that were not able to attend or those that would like to go back and review the information presented related to the 2022 – 2023 school year, please review our Registration Information document which contains many links to important curriculum information. Thank you for your support in helping our students select courses that push them to reach their post Athens Drive goals!


COURSE REGISTRATION FOR THE 2022 – 2023 SCHOOL YEAR: Our rising 12th Grade students are currently registering for their 2022 – 2023 courses. Each student has an individual appointment scheduled with their Counselor to complete this process. Appointment information is posted on the wall outside Student Services, on the wall in the 2400 hall, and all teachers have the information. Counselors are also sending reminder emails to students. Rising 12th Grade student appointments will continue until March 9th. Rising 11th Grade student appointments will be held from Thursday, March 10th through Monday, March 21st, and Rising 10th Grade student appointments will be held from Tuesday, March 22nd through Friday, April 1st. Those appointment times will be posted and made available as we get closer to those days. Students can go ahead and start pre-planning their course registration using the materials found on the Student Services course registration website.


SUPPORT FOR OUR STUDENTS: We realize that we have students who are not only closely impacted by the war in Ukraine, but who also are just worried about what this means for us in the United States. We have students who are from Ukraine and Russia, students who have families in Ukraine and Russia, and we have students who have families who serve our Country in the Armed Services and could be wondering about a potential deployment, and the possibility of these students being personally impacted by this conflict is high. In addition, we have students who are concerned and trying to understand these current events. I would ask that if you have any concerns regarding your student with respect to these events or who need support, please reach out to our Student Services team for assistance. Please know that we want to be able to support and serve our students in the myriad of ways that they may need. Thank you for partnering with us to allow our students to not only be academically successful but to also support our students’ social and emotional well-being.


BOARD OF EDUCATION VOTE ON MASK REQUIREMENT: As I am sure you all are aware of by now, the Board of Education voted to make face coverings recommended but not required in all Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) schools. The effective date for this implementation is Monday, March 7th. Thus, students, staff, and visitors will have the option of either wearing a mask or not wearing a mask while in our school. Student athletes who are participating in Athletics already now have the option to wear a mask or not wear a mask during their workouts, practices, and games. Beginning today at 5:00 p.m., any student who is participating in any after school extra-curricular events (e.g., Band practice, Musical rehearsals, Club meetings, etc.) also will have the option to wear a mask or not wear a mask. Please understand that due to Federal Regulations, students are required to wear a face covering while riding on our buses or other school transportation. So, even after Monday, March 7th when the optional masking takes effect, students will need to continue to wear a mask while they are on a school bus. Thank you for adherence to these policies and practices while you are on campus, and thank you for your understanding as we adjust our practices based on Board directives.


A FEW THOUGHTS REGARDING OUR NEW MASK POLICY: I wanted to take a short moment to share a few of my thoughts regarding our new optional mask policy that is being implemented in phases (Athletics already, Extra-Curricular events this afternoon, and in school on Monday, March 7th). This is just from me to ensure that we continue to do right by our students, staff, and visitors:

  • Let’s Be Respectful: I know we have staff members, students, and families who are all along the spectrum from always wearing masks to not wearing masks at all. No matter where we stand, what we believe, or when we think it is right for a change in policy, let's continue to be respectful of each other and honor and value the place we each hold.
  • Optional Masks Means Optional Masks: I just want to be sure that students, staff, and visitors feel comfortable either wearing a mask or not wearing a mask on campus. Optional masks means optional masks. I want to ensure that whatever personal decision is made, that our students, staff, and visitors now have the option to wear a mask or not wear a mask without any negative impact on their decision.
  • Virtual Academy Is Not An Option For Students Who Are Concerned About This Change in Policy: Please know that a student/family will not have the option of moving into our Virtual Academy. Thank you for your understanding of this.
  • Let’s Be Sensitive and Empathetic: Please know that we have students, staff, families, and visitors who for very valuable reasons will have concerns on all sides of this change. Please be understanding, as we don't know each student, staff member, family, and visitor's story, what each student, staff member, family, and visitor are dealing with, and what road we all have traveled. Let's not be judgmental on the decisions that individuals will make. Let's remember to be kind to each other and respect the choices that students, staff members, families, and visitors will make.

Please understand that this is just me sharing my thoughts in trying to help you all understand where I see us moving as a school family. I really do not see many changes in the everyday operation of school based on this new policy, except for some students, staff members, and visitors will opt to not wear a mask and some students, staff members, and visitors will opt to continue to wear a mask. Thank you for your continued support over the last two years as we have dealt with many changes and transitions due to the impact of COVID-19 and the global pandemic!


ACT ADMINISTRATION FOR ALL JUNIORS ON TUESDAY, MARCH 1ST: We will be administering the ACT to all Juniors next Tuesday, March 1st. This is a required test for all 11th Grade students. The test will start at 7:25 a.m. and last approximately four hours. Students need to bring a photo ID, #2 pencils, and a calculator. Please know that Athens Drive Magnet High School does NOT provide calculators for students taking the ACT. Students must bring their own calculators for the Math test portion. Please visit or call 1-800-498-6481 for a recorded message containing highlights from this policy. Please know that all Juniors were provided a letter with detailed information regarding the ACT. Students can visit the Information for Examinees ACT page for a FREE PRACTICE test and other ACT resources at Students should complete their non-test information in MyACT ( AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Students need to type their last name, first name and student code EXACTLY as it appears on the top of the letter that they received. Please know that students will receive more information about room locations in the next few weeks regarding ACT test administration day. ACT BELL SCHEDULE FOR TUESDAY, MARCH 1ST: Please know that on Tuesday, March 1st, we will be operating on an ACT Bell Schedule. The ACT Bell Schedule will allow for us to administer the ACT to all Juniors while also maintaining a regular day of instruction for all other students. Please note that we will NOT be having our originally scheduled Drive Time class due to the administration of the ACT.


VIRTUAL ACADEMY ASYNCHRONOUS DAY ON TUESDAY, MARCH 1ST: Virtual Academy students and families, please plan on having an Asynchronous Day of learning on Tuesday, March 1st. Due to the Administration of the ACT on campus, we will need all staff assisting with the administration of the ACT and maintaining the regular operation of school that day. Thus, there will be no live instruction on Tuesday, March 1st for our Virtual Academy students and all classes will have assignments for students to complete asynchronously that day. Our In-Person learning students will still have a regular day of In-Person teaching and learning that day. All 3 schools who support our Virtual Academy (Cary High School, Green Hope High School, and Athens Drive Magnet High School) will be administering the ACT that day so there will be no live instruction in our Virtual Academy.


VOLLEYBROS ANNUAL CHARITY VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT: The Student Government is sponsoring VolleyBros, our Annual Charity Volleyball Tournament, on Thursday, March 3rd, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Upper Gym. Students can enter a team of 6 to 10 players (only 6 players on the court at a time though) by filling out the Registration Packet and paying $5.00 cash. EACH player must complete the registration packet and parent/guardian must sign the waiver before being allowed to participate. Deadline to register your team is after school on March 1st. ALL proceeds will go to benefit Haven House of Raleigh (charity supporting homeless adolescents here in Raleigh). If you don't want to play, but want to come out and watch the fun for a great cause, admission is $5.00 cash, too! If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Remaley (


ATHENS DRIVE BLOOD DRIVE: I am proud of our students partnering with The Blood Connection to provide a Blood Drive for our school community. The Blood Drive will be held on Saturday, March 19th, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at REI Cary (the store parking lot at 1741 Walnut Street Cary, NC 27511). Anyone interested in participating in this event will need to register at THIS LINK and then enter Sponsor Code 7967. Please know that all donors will receive a $10.00 eGift Card and a $10.00 charitable donation will be made for every donor to the Lutheran Services Refugee Resettlement services. There is a desperate need for blood, and I am thankful for the service of our students to make a difference! 


SENIOR BREAKFAST UPDATE: We are excited to celebrate our Seniors on Thursday, March 31st! The Decorations Committee is hard at work crafting items to dress up Jaguar Stadium. The Prize Committee has done an amazing job soliciting local businesses, and prizes are starting to come in. We are still recruiting parents to donate food items and to help at the event so please visit our Sign Up Genius ( page. Please know it is not too late to contribute, we are still collecting donations ( help with costs. To all the generous parents who have already helped with time, money, and donated goods, thank you for helping us put on a great event!


THE PROM SHOPPE IS OPENING SOON: The Prom Shoppe is an event sponsored by Apex United Methodist Church that helps alleviate the financial burden Prom shopping can place on families. Teens in our area can receive prom dresses, shoes, jewelry, makeup, etc. at no cost if the teen is in financial need. The Prom Shoppe will be held on Friday, March 11th from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and on Saturday, March 12th from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Apex United Methodist Church, 100 South Hughes Street, Apex.

CLOSING MESSAGE AND TAKE CARE: Events like last night’s Curriculum Night and Freshmen Open House inspire me with regards to the leadership of our students, staff, and school families! It was a great night to share curriculum information with our current students and families, and provide a welcome and information to our rising Jaguars! We have amazing students who share their brilliance and talents each day with our school community, and we have dedicated staff who inspire greatness and help our students reach their ultimate potential! It continues to be an honor and pleasure to serve our school family and I am thankful for each day of teaching and learning at The Drive! QUARANTINE AND A SAFE RETURN TO THE CLASSROOM: Please know that we have had several members of our school family test positive for COVID-19, we have had to conduct substantial contact tracing, and we have students who have had to be quarantined due to being exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. Please remember that if both students are wearing their masks appropriately, and one of the students exposes the other student, the other student does NOT have to quarantine. Therefore, we advocate and want to ensure that all students, staff, and visitors wear a face covering and wear it appropriately (covers the nose and mouth and is under the chin). In addition, if a student is fully vaccinated, the student does not have to quarantine. I would ask that we all review WCPSS’s Safe Return to School Plan to ensure that we are all doing what we need to do if a student has to quarantine to stay safe and stop the spread of COVID-19. I appreciate your understanding and support as we deal with this COVID-19 pandemic.


PLEASE DO NOT COME TO SCHOOL IF YOU ARE SICK OR SYMPTOMATIC! I would continue to ask that we please work together to keep all our students, staff, and visitors safe and work to stop the spread of COVID-19 at The Drive. To support this effort, students who are experiencing any of these Department of Health and Human Services-identified COVID-19 symptoms should NOT come to school: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle of body aches, headache, new loss of taste and smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and/or diarrhea.


UTILIZING POWERSCHOOL TO TRACK YOUR STUDENT’S PROGRESS: Please know that PowerSchool is available for parents in addition to your student(s). This is one of the best ways to keep track of your student’s progress. PowerSchool contains up-to-date grades (including missing assignments). Please know that your parent account will update at the same time grades are entered by teachers. PowerSchool can be used to receive notifications about when your student is tardy or absent from a class. It is highly recommended that all parents use this tool. PARKING ON CAMPUS: Thank you for your support of our efforts to ensure our students do the right thing and not park on campus unless they have a valid Parking Pass. I would continue to ask all students who want to drive and park on campus to be sure that they have a valid Athens Drive Parking Pass. Please know that the cost of a Parking Pass is prorated, so to park on campus from now until the end of the school is $100.00. Students who park illegally on campus cause us problems as they are taking a space from a staff member or student who has paid for a spot. Please know it is important for us to know who is parking in each space and have parent permission for students to drive and park on campus. Students interested in securing a Parking Pass for the remainder of the 2021 – 2022 school year should carefully read and follow the guidelines on the application. BEING RESPECTFUL WHEN DRIVING TO AND FROM CAMPUS: Now that Athens Drive has been closed due to the bridge replacement project, I would ask for your help as you are driving to and from campus. As our students and school families find alternative routes to school, our neighbors are experiencing an increase in traffic through neighborhoods that haven’t normally experienced that kind of volume. I would ask that we please be mindful of our speed by obeying speed limits, coming to complete stops at stop signs, looking out for little children and families, and driving responsibly as we make our way to and from school in the mornings and afternoons. I want us to always be safe and represent The Drive in only the highest manner. SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AND FAFSA: Scholarships are one of your family’s most powerful tools in the journey to cover College/University costs without loans because they are funds students earn and never have to pay back! In addition, to qualify for Financial Aid, students need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). FUTURE TEACHER PROGRAM APPLICATION NOW OPEN: Another “scholarship” opportunity for students is the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) Future Teacher Program. Graduating Seniors who are going to college with the intention of pursuing a Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade teaching career in one of 10 identified areas are encouraged to apply for the Future Teacher Program. The application deadline is April 15th. This program offers students an annual summer professional development stipend, and more importantly, a WCPSS teaching position upon Graduation! Students and families can register for an Online Information Session that will be held on February 24th. My daughter was accepted in this Program and is Graduating in May from N.C. State University and knows she has a guaranteed teaching position in WCPSS upon Graduation. As a dad, it is nice to know she is already guaranteed employment to follow her passion!


COVID-19 TESTING AT ATHENS DRIVE MAGNET HIGH SCHOOL: We held our first COVID-19 Testing day at The Drive this morning. For students and staff who enrolled in our free, StrongSchoolsNC COVID-19 Testing, they were tested between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. this morning. We will be testing those staff and students who have enrolled in our program every Friday morning from 7:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. Please know that students can still enroll in this program by registering at this link: Athens Drive High COVID-19 Testing Registration.


SENIOR BREAKFAST AND CAP AND GOWN DISTRIBUTION: Seniors and their families, please put Thursday, March 31st on your calendars! This is going to be a great day to celebrate our Seniors! First, from 7:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. we will be hosting our Senior Breakfast in Jaguar Stadium. Then, immediately following our Senior Breakfast, as Seniors leave the stadium, they will be able to pick-up their Cap and Gown and other products that were ordered through Jostens! I am always excited to celebrate these events with our Seniors as our BIGGEST day, Graduation, gets closer and closer!


SENIOR CAP AND GOWN ORDERING INFORMATION: Please remember that each Senior is responsible for purchasing their own Cap and Gown, or they can borrow one from a previous Athens Drive Graduate. The Cap and Gown is royal blue and will include a 2022 orange tassel. The ordering packets the Seniors received also contain information about custom printed Athens Graduation announcements, spirit wear, and so much more. You can order online by visiting or you can order in-person by filling out the order form and either mailing it (along with payment) to the address listed. Please remember that the Graduation Fee of $60.00 is a separate fee and needs to be paid online through the Athens Drive website online payment system or in-person to the Main Office. FOOD PANTRY IS OPEN! In case you were not aware, at Athens Drive we also have a Food Pantry supported by the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. The Food Pantry is stocked with non-perishable food items, toiletries, and fresh produce and frozen meats, when possible. FAN CODE OF CONDUCT: As you attend various athletic events, you will also see our Fan Code of Conduct. We ask all spectators to adhere to this Code of Conduct:


  • The Athens Drive Athletic Department is committed to creating a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for all student athletes and fans while visiting our campus.
  • School staff will proactively intervene to support an environment where our student athletes and fans can enjoy an event experience free from the following:
    • Behavior that is unruly, disruptive, or illegal in nature
    • Abusive, foul, or disruptive language and obscene gestures
    • Fighting, taunting, or threatening remarks or gestures
    • Throwing objects of any kind
    • Any disruption to the progress of the event caused by a fan’s actions
    • Intoxication or other signs of impairment related to alcohol consumption or other substance abuse
    • Failing to follow instructions from school staff
    • Verbal or physical harassment of opposing team’s student athletes or fans
    • Any behavior that otherwise interferes with the progress of the contest

INFORMATION NEEDED FROM OUR MILITARY-CONNECTED FAMILIES: To ensure that the unique needs of our Military-connected students are met, North Carolina state law requires that schools collect information on Military-connected students. The goal is to help accommodate these students by providing them with support and consistency when their parents/immediate family members are deployed, when they are transitioning between schools, and at other pivotal times during their academic career. We gave hard copies of the form that needs to be returned to our school to our students during First Period last week. If you did not get the hard copy form and you a Military-connected family, please return THIS FORM to Ms. Martin in our Student Services office or email it to her ( Please complete this form by Friday, November 12th. If you are not a Military-connected family, you do not need to complete this form.


ATHENS ORACLE: I'm excited to let you know that the Athens Oracle Staff is now publishing daily on our website, Twitter, and Instagram. We moved away from print publication last year and found that the students really liked publishing more online. They can get stories out faster and can use multiple types of media to tell their stories. Our students are excited about their articles and posts and wanted me to share them with you.  Please check out the website here: Athens Oracle and follow them on Twitter and Instagram @AthensOracle. ATHENS DRIVE TUTORING CLUB: Please remember that our Athens Drive Tutoring Club is up and running, again, for this year. Attached is the information brochure. This is for students that would like to request a Peer Tutor AND for those students who would like to be a Peer Tutor. Information can be found on the Athens Drive Tutoring Club website.


CHROMEBOOK CASES ARE AVAILABLE: We have received Chromebook cases for students with Lenovo Chromebooks checked out last year. Any student with a WCPSS Chromebook issued last year can stop by the Media Center to get a case for their device.


CARPOOL SAFETY: There has been an increase in the number of cars that are just pulling over on Athens Drive to stop and either drop-off students in the morning or pick-up students in the afternoon. This is a very dangerous practice, and I would ask all our parents to please STOP doing this and follow our carpool process and procedures. I know that we all have our students’ safety and well-being as our top priority, and continuing this practice just isn’t worth the extra few minutes you may save in circumventing our on-campus carpool process. Thank you for providing not only a positive role model for our students by doing the right thing, but thank you for caring about the safety of all students by stopping this practice immediately. I do appreciate it.


VIRTUAL COLLEGE VISITS HAVE BEGUN: Virtual College Visits began this week! Students can visit the College Visits section of our Student Services page of the Athens Drive Magnet High School website, and on the left, under “College Visits” they will find a calendar of events. Interested students can attend a session by clicking on the school’s scheduled event and finding the Virtual URL Link. Representatives will be holding virtual meetings during A Lunch and C Lunch each week. Contact information for the College’s representative can also be found there. ACCESSING TEACHER/COURSE INFORMATION: To best support the academic success of our students, every teacher has created a Learning Management System in either Canvas or Google Classroom. Students and families can access these resources by finding their Teacher on our Faculty Directory on the Athens Drive Magnet High School website. Students who are out of school due to absences or quarantine must utilize this resource to stay up-to-date with class assignments and resources.


GRADUATION DATE FINALIZED FOR THE CLASS OF 2022!! I am happy to announce that our Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2022 will be held on Saturday, June 11th, 2022, beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the Raleigh Convention Center! I look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of this incredible Class at our Commencement Exercises!


STUDENTS MUST HAVE A VALID PARKING PASS TO PARK ON CAMPUS: On Monday, September 13th, we will begin to ticket any cars who are parking on campus who do not have a valid Parking Pass to park on campus. We will also be ticketing students who park in a different Parking Space than the one they are assigned. I would like to ask all students and parents to help us ensure that only those students who have a valid Parking Pass park on campus. Please understand that any student who parks on campus must have a Parking Pass and park only in their assigned space. It is important for us to know who is parking in each space and have parent permission for students to drive and park on campus. Students interested in securing a Parking pass for the 2021 – 2022 school year should carefully read and follow the guidelines on the application. WEARING OF MASKS APPROPRIATELY AT ALL TIMES WHILE INSIDE DURING SCHOOL: Please help us remind your student that it is REQUIRED that all students, staff, and visitors to Athens Drive Magnet High School wear a face covering that covers their nose, mouth, and is under their chin. This is for the safety and well-being of all of us at The Drive, and I would ask that you please help us ensure that your student understands this mandate. It is imperative that we all comply and support a safe climate to help stop the spread of COVID-19 in our school.

DRESS CODE: I would like to again enlist your support in helping us maintain appropriate dress at school. WCPSS has a Dress Code Policy, and I would ask that all students adhere to this Dress Code. Please be sure that students do not wear clothing that violates the Dress Code. In addition, hats, hoods that are pulled over the head, do-rags, and bandanas are also not allowed to be worn on school grounds. I would ask that we work together to be sure our students dress appropriately and focus on learning. I thank you for your support!


ATTENDANCE INFORMATION: We are implementing new procedures for Student Check-In and Check-Out and are working to go as paperless as possible with regards to our Attendance procedures. I would ask that school families please use our Attendance-Specific email address ( to send any communication regarding Attendance. Any emails from parents/guardians, doctor’s offices, etc. need to be sent to that email address. In addition, when a parent/guardian comes to school to check-out or check-in a student, the parent/guardian will be using a QR Code that we have posted on the Front Door of the school to complete our process. As soon as the parent/guardian is done entering the information in the Google Doc, we will contact the student’s teacher and the student will come to the Front Doors of the school for Check-Out. Please remember that for safety reasons, there are no student Check-Outs allowed after 1:45 p.m. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we implement these new procedures.


VIRTUAL ACADEMY WEBSITE: We have created a Virtual Academy website that is open as a resource for our Virtual Academy students. We hope this information supports our Virtual Academy students and families as they embark on virtual teaching and learning this year.


FREE SCHOOL MEALS FOR THE ENTIRE 2021 – 2022 SCHOOL YEAR: Please remember that Breakfast, and Lunch, will be available at no cost to all students for the 2021 – 2022 school year. While WCPSS may be able to offer free meals to all students, it is very important for eligible parents to complete a meal benefits application because this data enables schools to obtain funding to provide other important educational resources to benefit our students. Other benefits that are issued directly to families that have applied and are eligible for meal benefits may also be available (such as the P-EBT cash benefit). Parents can complete a meal benefits application online at Paper applications also are available at all schools. FAMILY PARTNERS—OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE: I am looking to start a new program to better facilitate communication and to address the specific needs of each Grade Level. Our Family Partners program will be an opportunity for our school families to meet throughout the year to receive specific information related to the Grade Level of their student. I am hoping this will build positive relationships and increase timely, specific information to our school families. To make this partnership work, I am asking that we have approximately five parents/guardians from each to serve as a Lead Family Partner for each Grade. These Lead Family Partners will serve as facilitators for each group along with one Administrator and one Counselor. Together, these individuals will lead meetings (my thinking is maybe three/four meetings a year), be a resource for Grade Level school families, support Grade Level families through communication, and be Grade Level representatives at a few of our school-wide events (e.g., Magnet Open House, Curriculum Night, etc.). The time commitment will not be overwhelming, I promise, and it will give these individuals a chance to gain insights and information to support their own students and all students in that Grade Level. Lead Family Partners will move each year forward with their Grade Level (e.g., the same Lead Family Partners for the Freshmen Class this year will be the same Lead Family Partners for the Sophomore Class next year, etc.). If you would be interested in serving in this capacity, I would ask you to please complete this Family Partner Information Form letting me know your interest in serving in this capacity. PARKING PASS: Parking passes for Juniors and Seniors in good standing for the 2021 – 2022 school year are now available. Students interested in securing a Parking pass for the 2021 – 2022 school year should carefully read and follow the guidelines on the application. To complete the Parking Pass Application process, please be sure to do the following:


  • Complete the Online Parking Form
  • Print and complete the One-Page Paper Application (which includes a signed copy of the Athens Drive Magnet High School and Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) Rules and Regulations). Please note the dates for accepting applications.
  • Make a clear copy of your valid North Carolina Driver’s License (permanent license, not a permit) and Vehicle Registration(s).
  • Students must not have any outstanding fees and fines (our Main Office Staff will verify this). A Parking Tag will not be issued if a student has any outstanding fees or fines.


The cost of a Parking Pass is $200.00 for the year. Parking tags may be picked up beginning on Monday, August 2nd, Monday through Friday, through Friday, August 20th, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Please know that Parking Passes and Off-Campus Lunch Passes are two separate applications.


OFF-CAMPUS LUNCH PASS: Off-Campus Lunch passes for Juniors and Seniors in good standing for the 2021 – 2022 school year are also now available. A Junior or Senior student cannot leave campus during Lunch without having an authorized Off-Campus Lunch pass. Freshmen and Sophomores are NEVER allowed to leave campus during the school day, unless on an approved school trip. To complete this process, please visit the Off-Campus Lunch Pass information page on our Athens Drive Magnet High School website and please note the following:


  • The student must be a Junior or Senior.
  • The student must not have any outstanding fees and fines due to Athens Drive Magnet High School.
  • The student must have the parent/guardian sign the Off-Campus Lunch Pass application.


Please know the 2021 – 2022 Off-Campus Lunch Pass Application Form can be found on our website. The cost for a 2021 – 2022 Off-Campus Lunch Pass is $5.00. The completed form needs to be emailed to our School Receptionist, Ms. Gattens ( or physically brought to the school to the Main Office to turn it in. Please know that since we did not take student photographs last year due to COVID-19, we will need to make every Off-Campus Lunch Pass in the Main Office. Students will need to come to school beginning Monday, August 2nd, between the hours or 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. every day, Monday through Friday, until Friday, August 20th. A completed application and $5.00 fee must be provided before we can create an Off-Campus Lunch Pass for a student. Please know that Parking passes and Off Campus Lunch passes are two separate applications.

DRIVER’S EDUCATION INFORMATION: The Lead Teacher for our Athens Drive Driver’s Education Program is Coach Ray. ATHLETIC SPORTS PASSES: Athens Drive Athletics Sports Passes are now on sale for the 2021 – 2022 Athletic year!  All passes this year will be Digital, via the GoFAN platform. We offer four levels of sports passes; Student Pass, Individual Pass, Family Pass, and Go Jags Family Pass. If you purchase a Go Jags Family Pass, a customized Paw Print on the sidewalk outside Jag Stadium is included with your package. To get the Paw Print painted prior to the Fall Season, please make sure you purchase your Athletic Sport Pass by Saturday, July 31st. JAGUAR PAW PRINTS: Jaguar Paw Prints are on sale again this year for the athlete recognition paws that lead up to Jaguar Stadium. If you purchase a Go Jags Family Pass, it is included with your Pass membership fee. However, if you would like to order a Paw Print separately, please fill out this Paw Print form and we will send more information to you on how to purchase the Paw Print for the 2021 – 2022 school year.
