Good afternoon, this is Steve Mares, principal of Athens Drive Magnet High School, with a special message for Monday, January 18th. NEW OR UPDATED ANNOUNCEMENTS:
PREPARING FOR THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL: To prepare students for the First Day of the Second Semester, we have put together a Step-By-Step Guide to be sure that our students can access learning from Day 1. Please visit this site if your student is having any difficulty accessing their login, teacher websites, Google Meets for their classes, etc. Canvas courses will not be visible until the morning of Wednesday, January 20th. Thank you for your efforts to support our students to be prepared to begin the Second Semester in a positive manner!
STUDENT EMAIL: Please encourage your students to check their student Outlook WCPSS email account daily. Important and time-sensitive information is shared through this method. Students can find instructions in the Step-By-Step Guide.
BELL SCHEDULE FOR NEW SEMESTER BEGINNING WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 20TH: Please remember that we will be operating under a new Bell Schedule for the Second Semester. The new Bell Schedule can be found on the Athens Drive website.
DRIVE TIME: Our first Drive Time class will be held on Tuesday, January 26th. Your student will be assigned a new Drive Time Teacher for the Spring 2021 Semester. Drive Time Teachers will email your students with information soon!
DISTRIBUTION OF CURRICULUM MATERIALS TO STUDENTS: Please remember that we are distributing instructional materials to our students for the Second Semester tomorrow, Tuesday, January 19th, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. It is imperative that our students/families make every effort to come to school tomorrow during our Distribution events to get the textbooks, workbooks, instructional materials, etc. that students will need for a variety of classes. If students are enrolled in any of the following classes with the teacher listed, they need to come to campus to pick-up curriculum materials for the Second Semester:

Our Distribution event will be held in the Cafeteria, with students/families entering the building through the Gym/Auditorium Lobby entrance (parking in the Senior Lot in the back of school). Students/Families will proceed through the Courtyard and then turn into the Cafeteria where they will be given their instructional materials. Students/Families will then leave the Cafeteria and exit the school through the Gym/Auditorium Lobby doors. A Health Screening, that includes a set of questions and a touchless temperature check, will be conducted on all students/families entering our school to pick-up materials. Face coverings will be also be required for anybody who wishes to enter the school to get their instructional materials. Thank you for your support of our efforts to get these items to our students!
