Principal's Message April 11, 2025 (Aladdin Jr, Make-up day, 8th grade yard sign pick up, parent survey)
Hello HMS Families!
Here we go again, another Saturday make-up day tomorrow 8:20 - 11:50 AM. Transportation, breakfast, and lunch provided. At least next week we are off on Friday, April 18 for Good Friday, so something to look forward to!
Next week
- So excited for our musical, Aladdin, Jr! Monday, April 14 - Wednesday, April 16. Our kids have been working so hard, can't wait to see it! We offer a student-only performance of the musical right after school on Monday at 4pm to give all our students a chance to experience and celebrate the hard work of their peers. It also helps build school spirit and allows our performers to practice in front of a supportive audience before opening night for families and the community. Tuesday and Wednesday performances are at 6pm. Click here to purchase tickets!
- Thursday, April 17: Track 3 tracks out. We will see you back on Monday, May 12!
- Thursday, April 17: Families of 8th-grade students who ordered congratulations yard signs, you can pick them up in carpool this day after school! Other pick-up date is April 22 after school. No signs will go home on the bus.
- Friday, April 18: No School for Good Friday! Enjoy the day off.
Shout out to HMS students!
We have such creative and hard working students! If you do not follow our HMS Facebook page, you should. We are trying to stay up to date in highlighting the great things going on at HMS, as I am sure your kids do not always relay the information! Ha, kids! :)

Our media coordinator, Ms. O'Neal, started a Poetry Slam for National Poetry Month. Students have signed up to share their written songs, poetry, or read aloud their favorite poems to their peers. It was so moving to hear students share about their family, sisterhood, friendship, spring, and moving on to high school. Our kids are so talented!!!!
Parent Survey
Wake County Public Schools is administering a District-Wide Family Survey from Monday, April 7th through Friday, May 16th. While the survey is conducted across the district, your responses will be shared directly with Heritage Middle School.
We use this data to better understand how we're doing and to make informed decisions that strengthen our relationship with families and improve the experience for our school community.
When completing the survey, please be sure to select Heritage Middle School so we receive your feedback. Your voice truly makes a difference! Thank you for partnering with us and your support of our school!
