October 10, 2021 Principal Message
Hello Patriot Families!
I hope you are enjoying the fall weather and the first signs of turning leaves. Here are this week’s reminders:
Bullying Prevention Month: During this month students, schools, and communities all over the world go BLUE together against bullying. Join us in solidarity to stop bullying and cyberbullying! Make it the month that bullying prevention is heard around the world! Wear a blue shirt to school on Wednesday, October 13 to "Stomp Out Bullying." You will be using your voice and sending a message that this is the month that bullying prevention is heard around the world. End the Hate... Change the Culture!
Community Campus Clean Up: Over 30 staff, students, and families have signed up to give our front campus a refresh thus far. This event is in collaboration with our PTA Beautification Committee. Won’t you join us? Please sign up at the bottom of this flyer if you can participate. Campus Clean Up Flyer Trouble signing up? Click here.
Game Attendance Expectations: As announced previously, we do not have concessions available at our home games. Please plan to send students a snack and drink if they are staying at school. Once at the game, students are not allowed to leave.
Heritage Middle Sign: Sadly, the L is still missing from our Heritage Middle School sign that was made by students over a decade ago for the driveway curve.
Magnet School Applications: Interested in applying to a WCPSS Magnet School for the 2022-23 school year for your middle schooler? Or how about learning about the WCPSS Early College High Schools and Magnet Schools for your rising 9th grader? Check out these opportunities to learn what WCPSS has to offer! Go to Mrs. McCorquodale's 8th grade website HERE to get the info you need! She will also be presenting "High School Options" to all 8th graders through a core class this month. You can view her presentation posted on her website as well. Please see Mrs. McCorquodale with any questions: firstname.lastname@example.org
National School Lunch Week: This year, the 2021 NSLW will take place October 11–15, 2021. Schools around the country will celebrate with special menus, events, student activities and more. The 2021 NSLW theme WILD About School Lunch will highlight the importance of school lunch and the critical role school nutrition professionals play in helping children succeed in and out of the classroom.
