August 15, 2021 Principal Message
Hello Patriot Families!
It has been another busy week at Heritage Middle! Track 2 will get ready to track out this week, and Track 3 will enjoy a last week of Track Out. I hope you are enjoying your weekend. Here are this week’s reminders:
Community Clean Up: Mark your calendars for our community clean up day, which will be held the morning of October 23! In coordination with our PTA Beautification Committee, we will be sprucing up the front lawn. We look forward to having families, student groups, and staff working together to complete some much needed mulching and weed pulling. More details to come!
Encore: This past week Tracks 1 and 2 began a new Encore plan, which has been in the planning stages for over two years. The focus is to support all students based on the goals in our School Improvement Plan. The new plan focuses on intervention, remediation, and enrichment so that all students are receiving the support that they need to reach their potential. Each team assigns students to the appropriate Encore group based on each week's data. Some intervention groups will remain in place for more than a week at a time, while others will change weekly based on student needs.
Girls Soccer: Currently, we have no applicants for the Girls Soccer Coach position for this fall. If you have expertise in this area and are interested, please fill out an application in Applitrack https://www.wcpss.net/Page/1889. If we cannot secure a coach, we will not be able to field this team.
Health Guidance Updates:
PTA: Our next Spirit Night has been confirmed. Papa Murphy's, at 11721 Retail Drive on September 2, 2021. They will be donating back 33%. The Spirit Night will run from 1:00 pm -7:00 pm. Mark your calendars!

We are not allowed to publicize the meeting link, so PLEASE email us at email@example.com to get the link!! Even if you're not ready to "do" something, attending the meetings is a GREAT and EASY way to know what's going on at your child(ren)'s school! Join us! All are welcome!
Traditional School Impact: Looking ahead, I want to remind you that traditional school students return the week of August 23. Their return will most likely have an impact on our busing schedule and traffic.
