Hello Patriot Families!
Here are this week’s updates:
Notes for All Students
Asynchronous Day: Wednesday, May 26, is the last Asynchronous Remote Learning Day scheduled for this year. No live instruction will occur but asynchronous assignments will be provided.
8th Grade Celebration: The Driveby Celebration is scheduled for June 17, 4:00 - 6:00 pm. We will provide additional details later. We encourage students to decorate their vehicles (with parent/guardian permission) for this final send off.
Final Drive By: The final drive by to drop off materials has been scheduled for June 17 and 18. More details will be provided soon.
PTA News: Upcoming Spirit Night will be at Papa Murphy's on Monday, May 31st, from 1:00-8:00!
Technology Updates: All School issued Wi-Fi hotspots MUST be returned to school before the end of the school year. You may drop off the hotspot AND the charger at the front office or have your child return it to their homeroom teacher. If your child is returning to a WCPSS school for the 21-22 school year and they have a school issued Chromebook, he/she will need to keep the Chromebook for use next year. If your child is not returning to a WCPSS school, you must return the school issued Chromebook and charger. If your child is returning to WCPSS AND has a damaged Chromebook, it is important for you to return that Chromebook now. Returning it makes your child eligible to receive a replacement device for the 21-22 school year. Any student that doesn't currently have a school issued Chromebook will receive one automatically for the 21-22 school year.
Walker Passes: We are no longer issuing Walker Passes for the 2020-2021 school year. We do not provide Walker Passes on a temporary basis.
Reminders from Previous Weekly Messages:
Attendance Notes: If you need to provide an absence note for your child, please do so digitally by contacting our data manager at email@example.com.
Covid Diagnosis: If a student receives a positive Covid diagnosis, do not send the student to school. Please contact the principal at firstname.lastname@example.org. The guidance for return to school is updated here: https://www.wcpss.net/whentoreturn
Health Screening: Students should not be in school if they are diagnosed with COVID-19, exposed to someone with COVID-19, instructed to quarantine, or if they are sick or experiencing any of these symptoms:
- 100.4° fever or higher
- Sore throat
- New cough
- New shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- New loss of taste or smell
- Diarrhea or vomiting
- New severe headache
If your child is experiencing any of these symptoms, he/she should not report to school. Follow the return to school guidance: https://www.wcpss.net/whentoreturn

Quarter 4 Bell Schedule: Bell Schedule
Rising Heritage High 9th Grade Students: Any student/parent who needs to make changes to the "Heritage High School 9th Grade Course Requests," please complete the following Google Form found HERE - be sure you indicate you are a current 8th grade student and mark Ms. Weaver as your counselor. The deadline to make changes is May 28th. There is no need to complete the form if you are pleased with your elective choices.
