No School Monday
There will be no school on Monday, January 20 in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Track Change Request
Our track change request period for current families is open from Jan. 6 – Feb. 7. Requests must be submitted within this window. Information is posted on the front page of our website with a link to a form to submit if you are interested in requesting a track change for the 2020-2021 school year. You will receive notification on your request by the end of February.
PTA Spirit Night
Our next PTA Spirit Night will be January 28 from 5-8 PM at Culver’s. Hope you can come out to support our PTA!
High School on the Horizon
Believe it or not, High School for your 8th grader is right around the corner! Please plan on attending "High School on the Horizon" on Tues, Jan 28, from 5-6 pm in the HMS auditorium. At this presentation parents will receive information about HS graduation requirements, career pathways, how HMS will conduct 9th grade registration, and hear a presentation from CollegeWise. 8th grade students accompanied by their parent are also welcomed to attend. Please contact Mrs. McCorquodale, 8th grade counselor, with any questions. The presentation will be posted on her website after the event for those unable to attend.
Upcoming High School Open House Events
Attention Rising 9th Graders: Mark your calendars and plan to attend the Open House/Curriculum Fair events for your future high school student. Check out our website or the high schools for more specific information. Heritage High School is Feb 6th from 6-8 pm. Wake Forest High School is Feb 6th from 4:30-6 pm. Wakefield High School is Jan 30th from 5-8 pm. Rolesville High School is Jan. 30th from 6:30-7:30 pm.
WCPSS Magnet / YR Application window
The WCPSS Magnet and YR School application period is currently open and closes on Jan 30. Please contact your child's counselor if you have any questions regarding the Magnet/YR School application process.
Request for Educational Excused Absence
Parents, when completing the Request for Educational Excused Absence form, please include a detailed explanation for the educational nature of the leave. This will allow for quicker response time in approving or denying your students request. Also, a 2-day advance notice is required to be considered for approval.
Our Boys and Girls basketball teams are both doing well and enjoying the season. Both teams are now 5-4. Our next home game is Tuesday, January 21.
