Open House Monday, July 8 for ALL Tracks

 

Our Open House / Schedule Pick up event for the 2019-2020 school year is Monday, July 8 from 12-2 for Tracks 2 and 4 and from 2:30-4:30 for Tracks 1 and 3. Please visit the HMS website for a detailed schedule for the day.

 

First day July 9 for Tracks 1, 2 & 3

 

The first day of school for students on Tracks 1, 2 and 3 is Tuesday, July 9.

 

Free/Reduced Meal Benefits

 

Free/Reduced Meal Benefits: Online applications for 2019-20 are now available at MySchoolApps.com. Paper copies of the application are available upon request (contact HMS Student Services at 919-562-6204). Free/Reduced meal benefits from 2018-19 expire for students on Track 1 on Aug. 19. They expire for students on Tracks 2 & 4 on Sept. 9 and they expire for students on Track 3 on Sept. 10.  Please call the school with any questions.

 

New Student Dress Code

 

The WCPSS Board of Education has created a new student dress code policy #4316. We ask all parents to carefully review this policy and partner with us by monitoring student attire. We strive to honor the guiding principles the WCPSS BOE set that focuses on a student dress code which is similar to those experienced and expected in the workplace. The full student dress code policy can be found on the WCPSS website under Board Policies as well as on the HMS website under reminders.  While the entire policy should be read carefully, I wanted to point our three areas (sections A, D and H) in particular:

  • Students must wear clothing that covers their skin from chest to mid-thigh with non-see-through fabric in front, back and on the sides.
  • Breasts, genitals and buttocks must be covered with non-see-through fabric.
  • Head coverings (including hats and hoods) are prohibited in the building with the exception of sincerely held religious beliefs or cultural expressions or to reasonable accommodate medical or disability related issues.

AIG Parent Meetings

 

AIG Parent Information Meetings (sessions are the same): July 23 9:30-10: 15 a.m. and August 6 6:00-6:45 p.m.
