New WCPSS Student Dress Code
The WCPSS Board of Education has created a new student dress code policy #4316. We ask all parents to carefully review this policy and partner with us by monitoring student attire. We strive to honor the guiding principles the WCPSS BOE set that focuses on a student dress code which is similar to those experienced and expected in the workplace. The full student dress code policy can be found on the WCPSS website under Board Policies as well as on the HMS website under reminders. While the entire policy should be read carefully, I wanted to point our three areas (sections A, D and H) in particular:
- Students must wear clothing that covers their skin from chest to mid-thigh with non-see-through fabric in front, back and on the sides.
- Breasts, genitals and buttocks must be covered with non-see-through fabric.
- Head coverings (including hats and hoods) are prohibited in the building with the exception of sincerely held religious beliefs or cultural expressions or to reasonable accommodate medical or disability related issues.
