Counselor's Corner

As the guidance counselor at Lockhart Elementary, I want to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning students and their families.  I look forward to working together with each of you to help your child be successful this school year.  I am dedicated to helping support students in their academic, personal/social, and career development.  I will help support students this school year in the following ways:

  • Classroom guidance lessons for all students focusing on topics such as bullying, feelings, making good choices, goal setting, careers, and getting along with others.
  • Small groups for students in grades K – 5 focusing on personal/social and academic needs such as making friends, coping with grief, dealing with anger, family transition, and test taking skills.
  • Short term individual counseling (4-6 sessions) for students who need individual help with school or home concerns.
  • Family support with behavior and academic resources, as well as referrals to community organizations or outside agencies.

If you would like to refer your child for counseling services or have questions about the counseling program, please call 919-266-8458 or email me at
