Rising middle school students do not need to register at their base schools. They automatically rollover at the end of the 24-25 school year.

However, if you want your child to go to another school besides your base, then you would need to apply on the Wake County Schools’ website, www.wcpss.net during the appropriate transfer window. 

1. To apply for a magnet middle school complete the online application available October 14, 2024– Jan. 23, 2025.  Results will be posted in your parent portal on February 21, 2025. 
2. To request a transfer to another middle school in the district that is not your base, request to return to your base school, or request a hardship transfer, complete the online application available March 3, 2024 – March 14, 2024.  Results will be emailed to you beginning March 14, 2024.
