The NCDHHS Strong Schools NC Toolkit was updated last Friday, January 7th. Be sure to review wcpss.net/whentoreturn to see all of the changes.  Please reach out with individual questions and cases and we will be glad to support you.

Summary of the updates:

• Boosters are not required for ages 5-17 to be considered up to date on recommended vaccinations.

• If exposed, you do not need to quarantine as long as you are up-to-date with recommended vaccinations and DO NOT HAVE symptoms.

• If you were diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 90 days and you DO NOT HAVE symptoms, you do not need to quarantine.  You must continue to wear a mask for 10 days after the exposure.  

• For those living with someone diagnosed with COVID-19, the quarantine time is updated to reflect options for people up-to-date on recommended vaccinations. 

• Everyone must continue to wear a mask when returning from 5-day quarantine.
