Immunizations for Seniors: Sept 21 Deadline
Please review the following information to make sure that Seniors have the required immunizations to attend school this year. On Sept 22, any student without a health assessment shall be prohibited from attending school until they have obtained the required assessment.
Please send your proof of immunization to firstname.lastname@example.org or drop it by the main office asap.
Keeping The Green Hope High School Community Healthy
If a student is sick, please keep the student at home. Students have access to their teachers’ websites from home, and teachers have live office hours once per week. Students who are not feeling well but do not have one of the COVID-19 symptoms may return to school 24 hours after they have a fever (without the use of fever reducing medicine) AND they have felt well for 24 hours. View wcpss.net/WhenToReturn for requirements to return after a COVID-19 diagnosis, exposure, or symptoms.
If a parent is contacted about a student being exposed to COVID, here’s the link for more info.
If a student tests positive for COVID, here’s the link for more info.
Because of COVID-19, students are not allowed to drink directly from water fountains. Students may bring a refillable water bottle.
YEARBOOKS FOR GRADUATES
FAMILY shirts (preordered) and yearbooks (preordered) of students who have already graduated can be picked up in the Main Office from 8:00am-2:00pm.
Families may now submit joint custody paperwork to Nina Scott-Emuakpor. Please note that the changes will not take place until the end of September.
Please make sure to check your student’s bus route's arrival and departure times. Routes are updated daily and arrival/drop off times are subject to change. Families should consider downloading the Here Comes the Bus app for real-time route information. See WCPSS Transportation for more information.
Thanks to everyone who has been following our carpool processes. It has helped reduce the wait time for people in the carpool line. Here are a couple of quick reminders to help make the process even faster:
- Please make sure students have all their belongings ready to go when you arrive in the carpool drop-off area. Carpool moves much quicker when students exit vehicles in a timely manner.
- Please follow signage/staff to accommodate as many vehicles as possible in the drop-off area. This reduces wait time dramatically.
- Please pull as far forward as possible in the carpool pick-up area and have your students walk to you.
- Once a student has been picked up, drivers may use the left lane to go around drivers still waiting for students. Please be mindful of students attempting to enter cars on the left side.
Please build in enough time for your arrival if you’re coming through carpool. In an effort to expedite traffic flow, we ask that students have their belongings ready when they exit vehicles, and that drivers pull up as far as possible. Please see the carpool route and process.
Parents should only use the Carpool Entrance (at the traffic circle for dropping off and picking up students. The Front Entrance to the school is for drivers with passes, including student drivers with passes. The Bus Entrance is for buses.
School lunch is free to all students. They sign up for school lunch during 1st period. Juniors and Seniors who have off campus lunch passes may go off campus. All other students will participate in SMART Lunch. Teachers are available twice a week in their classrooms during SMART Lunch and will let students know their SMART Lunch schedule.
Face coverings are required to be worn in the building by all students and staff. More info about COVID safety protocols here.
All in-person students received Chromebooks during the first two weeks of school. Any students who haven’t gotten their Chromebook yet can visit the Media Center before school, during lunch, or after school to pick up their device. Any problems with Chromebooks must be reported to the Green Hope librarians or the WCPSS Technology Help Desk as soon as possible.
Senior conferences will start September 20th and continue through October 6th.
To sign up for your senior conference, please visit the Senior Google Classroom, under “Classwork” or the Student Services website.
