New this week



  1. Trackout and Checking Powerschool:

This is the last week before trackout.  Please make sure you are having conversations with your child about any make-up work.  All work is due on Friday, September 22nd by 2 p.m.  Powerschool is a great resource to stay up on grades.

 

  1. School Achievement: 

Congratulations to NRMS for achieving the goal of Meeting Expectations from last school year (2022-23)!  A lot of hard work by students, staff and parents went into this accomplishment.  We plan to continue working towards this goal and Exceeding Expectations for 2023-24.

 

  1. My last week:

This is my last week at NRMS. My interim assignment ends on Friday, September 22.

I’ve enjoyed working with everyone here at Neuse River MS and I’m excited about some the things we’ve been able to accomplish so far this year including working through a very hot start!  I’ve appreciated your support and your new Principal, Ms. Bonnie Mwanda, is eager to start her tenure on Monday, Sept. 25.

ATHLETICS:

 

  1. Our football players will have their first game of the year on Thursday, September 21st vs. East Millbrook at 4 p.m.  The game will be played at East Millbrook.

 

  1. Our soccer players will have their first game of the year on Wednesday, September 20th vs. East Millbrook at 4 p.m.  The game will be played at East Millbrook

 

  1. Our volleyball team will have their first game of the year on Wednesday, September 20th vs. East Millbrook at 4 p.m.  The game will be played at East Millbrook.




PTA News

 

CALLING ALL STUDENTS-Reflections CONTEST (September 18th-October 20th)

Our reflections contest is here!! ALL NRMS students are encouraged to participate in this national PTA arts contest. Our NRMS reflections contest will run from Monday, September 18th and ends Friday, October 20th at 11:59pm. 

 

We want to showcase your student's talents and recognize them! Your student can participate in any of the following categories: dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts. The 2023-2024 theme is " I am Hopeful Because..." All participating students will be recognized. First and runner up winners for each category will be awarded prizes and their pieces will be submitted to the Wake County PTA Council level. Winners at county level will go on to state and then up to national. Judging will occur first on all submitted pieces at the school level. Hardcopies of entry forms as well as category information will be made available starting on September 18th and will be placed in the office. Students can pick up entry forms as well as a form on categories they are interested in participating in.

NRMS PTA Spirit Fundraiser with Panic Point (September 23rd-November 4th)

Our NRMS PTA has partnered up with Panic Point in Youngsville again this year! Come out and enjoy a fun spooky time and bring your friends and family. It has always been a great hit with our students and their siblings/friends and even teachers!   1. Seguimiento y comprobación de Powerschool:

Esta es la última semana antes del trackout. Asegúrese de conversar con su hijo sobre cualquier trabajo de recuperación. Todo el trabajo debe entregarse el viernes 22 de septiembre a las 2 p.m. Powerschool es un gran recurso para mantenerse al día con las calificaciones.

 

  1. Rendimiento escolar:

Felicitaciones a NRMS por lograr el objetivo deSatisface las expectativas ¡del año escolar pasado (2022-23)! Se logró este logro con mucho trabajo duro por parte de los estudiantes, el personal y los padres. Planeamos continuar trabajando para lograr este objetivo y superar las expectativas para 2023-24.

 

  1. Mi última semana:

Esta es mi última semana en NRMS. Mi asignación interina finaliza el viernes 22 de septiembre.

Disfruté trabajar con todos aquí en Neuse River MS y estoy entusiasmado con algunas de las cosas que hemos podido lograr hasta ahora este año, incluido trabajar a través de un programa muy caliente¡comenzar! he apreciadosu apoyo y su nueva directora, la Sra. Bonnie Mwanda, está ansiosa por comenzar su mandato el lunes 25 de septiembre.

CONVOCATORIA A TODOS LOS ESTUDIANTES-CONCURSO Reflexiones (18 de septiembre al 20 de octubre)

¡¡Nuestro concurso de reflexiones ya está aquí!! Se anima a TODOS los estudiantes de NRMS a participar en este concurso nacional de artes de la PTA. Nuestro concurso de reflexiones de NRMS se llevará a cabo desde el lunes 18 de septiembre y finalizará el viernes 20 de octubre a las 11:59 p.m.

 

¡Queremos mostrar los talentos de sus estudiantes y reconocerlos! Su estudiante puede participar en cualquiera de las siguientes categorías: coreografía de danza, producción cinematográfica, literatura, composición musical, fotografía y artes visuales. El tema 2023-2024 es "Tengo esperanza porque..."Todos los estudiantes participantes serán reconocidos. Los ganadores del primer y segundo lugar de cada categoría recibirán premios y sus piezas se enviarán al nivel del Consejo de la PTA del condado de Wake.Los ganadores a nivel de condado pasarán al estatal y luego al nacional. La evaluación se realizará primero en todas las piezas presentadas a nivel escolar. Las copias impresas de los formularios de inscripción, así como la información de las categorías, estarán disponibles a partir del 18 de septiembre y se colocarán en la oficina.
