Hello Raven Families,

 

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend.   Please read below for updates from NRMS.

 

New this week



  1. Lunch Schedule change:  First, we would like to thank all of you for your grace and flexibility as we navigate the bus transportation situation that has affected the entire county.   Due to the arrival of our late buses, we will adjust our bell schedule effective Tuesday, Sept. 12 to ensure that those students who arrive on late buses are not missing valuable instructional time.  This will impact the lunch schedules only on all three grade levels.  The 6th grade and 8th grade will be eating lunch an hour later and the 7th grade will be eating an hour earlier.  This will not impact individual student schedules. 

 

6th Grade:Lunch 1 - 11:20-11:45 & Lunch 2 - 11:50-12:15

7th Grade:Lunch 1 - 10:20-10:45 & Lunch 2 - 10:50-11:15

8th Grade:Lunch 1 - 12:20-12:45 & Lunch 2 - 12:50-1:15

 

Again, thank you for all your patience and as we navigate this situation.  



  1. Expired lunch applications:

Student Lunch Account

Every year families have to complete the required form for Free/Reduced Lunch for the school year.  Approvals for the 22-23 school year have expired as of September 1.  If you have not submitted or applied online for the 23-24 school year, please do so as soon as possible.  No student will be denied a meal but please be sure to submit this information as soon as possible if you have not already done so.

  1. Curriculum night:  

Please join us on Tuesday, Sept. 12 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to hear about what your child will be learning in their Core and Elective classes. This will be a great opportunity for you to get an overview of the classes before we have individual parent/teacher meetings on Sept. 25

 

  1. Powerschool

Monitoring your Student’s  Progress: We have two weeks left until track-out and the end of quarter 1.  Please make sure you have logged into Powerschool and are tracking your child’s progress.  If you have questions, please reach out to your child’s teachers.







  1. 7th grade parents:

You should have received a Talking Points message from your student’s ELA teacher regarding our Sign of Suicide Prevention Program happening September 12 - September 14. Please reach out to the teacher or Ms. Corey with any questions or concerns. 




ATHLETICS:

 

  1.  After Practice Pick up:

Parents, please remember to pick your student up in the back of the school (in the Bus Lot) after all athletic practices.  This is the area that coaches have set up supervision so they are aware when students are picked up and when all students have left the school.  

 

  1. Cheerleading Tryouts:

Cheerleading tryouts will resume on Monday, September 11.



  1. Check DragonFly:

Please check your account in DragonFly to make sure your student is eligible and that all necessary documents have been submitted and approved.

NRMS PTA Online Spiritwear Sale  

Spiritwear is HERE! Our NRMS PTA is sponsoring our NRMS spiritwear sale and goes through September 15th. We have an assortment of logo designs/colors in shirts, hoodies, crewnecks, v necks, and have car magnets for sale! Sport that NRMS pride in school, school events, and in our community! Portion of proceeds will benefit our NRMS PTA. All orders will be distributed out at the same time after we come back from track out in October.

PTA Reflections COMING (run from September-October)

The 2023-2024 Reflections theme this year is "I am Hopeful Because..." 

The Reflections is a national arts contest that welcomes schools with PTAs to participate in. This program embraces students' creativity and recognizes the many talents of students in these categories: dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts. Your student is invited to participate in any of these categories. This is an excellent opportunity for all of our NRMS students to participate in and to shine. We will have judging of all submissions at the school level before we look at county level. Our chairpersons from PTA will be sending out more specific information. We 

 

 

 

 

hope your student will join our PTA Reflections contest! All student participants will be recognized for their achievement!

Nuevo esta semana



  1. Cambio de horario de almuerzo:  Primero, nos gustaría agradecerles a todos por su gracia y flexibilidad mientras navegamos por la situación del transporte en autobús que ha afectado a todo el condado. Debido a la llegada de nuestros autobuses retrasados, ajustaremos nuestro horario de timbre a partir del martes 12 de septiembre para garantizar que aquellos estudiantes que lleguen tarde en autobuses no pierdan un valioso tiempo de instrucción. Esto afectará los horarios de almuerzo solo en los tres niveles de grado. Los grados 6.º y 8.º almorzarán una hora más tarde y los de 7.º grado almorzarán una hora antes. Esto no afectará los horarios individuales de los estudiantes.

 

6to grado:Almuerzo 1 - 11:20-11:45 y Almuerzo 2 - 11:50-12:15

Séptimo grado:Almuerzo 1: 10:20-10:45 y almuerzo 2: 10:50-11:15

Octavo grado:Almuerzo 1 - 12:20-12:45 y almuerzo 2 - 12:50-1:15

  1. Solicitudes de almuerzo vencidas:

Cuenta de almuerzo estudiantil

Cada año las familias deben completar el formulario requerido para Almuerzo Gratis/Reducido para el año escolar. Las aprobaciones para el año escolar 22-23 expiraron a partir del 1 de septiembre. Si no ha presentado o presentado su solicitud en línea para el año escolar 23-24, hágalo lo antes posible. A ningún estudiante se le negará una comida, pero asegúrese de enviar esta información lo antes posible si aún no lo ha hecho.

  1. Cnoche de urriculum:  

Únase a nosotros el martes 12 de septiembre de 5 p.m. a 7 p.m. para enterarse de lo que su hijo aprenderá en sus clases básicas y optativas. Esta será una gran oportunidad para que usted obtenga una descripción general de las clases antes de que tengamos reuniones individuales de padres y maestros el 25 de septiembre.






  1. Escuela de poder

Monitoreando el progreso de su estudiante:Nos quedan dos semanas hasta el seguimiento y el final del primer trimestre. Asegúrese de haber iniciado sesión en Powerschool y de estar siguiendo el progreso de su hijo. Si tiene preguntas, comuníquese con los maestros de su hijo.



  1. Padres de 7mo grado:

Debería haber recibido un mensaje de Talking Points del maestro de ELA de su estudiante sobre nuestro Programa de Prevención de Señales de Suicidio que se llevará a cabo del 12 al 14 de septiembre. Comuníquese con el maestro o con la Sra. Corey si tiene alguna pregunta o inquietud.




ATLETISMO:

 

  1.  Recogida después de la práctica:

Padres, recuerden recoger a su estudiante en la parte trasera de la escuela (en el estacionamiento de autobuses) después de todas las prácticas deportivas. Esta es el área donde los entrenadores han establecido supervisión para saber cuándo recogen a los estudiantes y cuándo todos los estudiantes salen de la escuela.

 

  1. Pruebas de porristas:

Las pruebas de porristas se reanudarán el lunes 11 de septiembre.



  1. Compruebe Libélula:

Por favor verifique su cuenta en DragonFly para asegurarse de que su estudiantees elegible y que todos los documentos necesarios hayan sido presentados y aprobados.

Venta de ropa espiritual en línea de la PTA de NRMS

¡La ropa espiritual está AQUÍ! Nuestra PTA de NRMS patrocina nuestra venta de ropa espiritual de NRMS y se extenderá hasta el 15 de septiembre. ¡Tenemos una variedad de diseños y colores de logotipos en camisas, sudaderas con capucha, cuellos redondos, cuellos en V y tenemos imanes para automóviles a la venta! ¡Deporte el orgullo de NRMS en la escuela, los eventos escolares y en nuestra comunidad! Parte de los ingresos beneficiará a nuestra PTA de NRMS. Todos los pedidos se distribuirán al mismo tiempo después de que regresemos del seguimiento en octubre.

Reflexiones de la PTA PRÓXIMAMENTE (se ejecutarán de septiembre a octubre)

El tema de las Reflexiones 2023-2024 de este año es "Tengo esperanza porque..."

The Reflections es un concurso de arte nacional en el que invitan a participar a las escuelas con PTA. Este programa abraza la creatividad de los estudiantes y reconoce los muchos talentos de los estudiantes en estas categorías: coreografía de danza, producción cinematográfica, literatura, composición musical, fotografía y artes visuales. Su estudiante está invitado a participar en cualquiera de estas categorías. Esta es una excelente oportunidad para que todos nuestros estudiantes de NRMS participen y brillen. Evaluaremos todas las presentaciones a nivel de escuela antes de mirar a nivel de condado. Nuestros presidentes de la PTA enviarán información más específica. Nosotros
