Hello Raven Families,

 

I hope you all had a great weekend.  We finally had a normal week and everything went well.  The kids are settling in and doing a fabulous job.  Please read below for updates.

New this week

 

1. Students completed both math and reading iReady diagnostics.  They should be completing lessons at home.  They are required to have TWO passed lessons each week in both subjects.  Asking your student if they have completed their iReady will be extremely helpful.

 

2. Interims will be going out this week.  Please look at your child’s progress and if you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher.  Powerschool is a great way to stay in the know and keep up on your student’s progress.

 

3. You should have received a message if we are missing your student's 7^th grade immunizations. If we do not have these records by August 22nd, your student will not be able to attend school until we have received these records. Reach out to your student's primary care doctor or the Wake County Health Department for an appointment. Please send records to jwalker3@wcpss.net. Reach out to the 7^th grade counselor, Ms. Corey for any questions or concerns.

 

4. Our Agriculture Students have been working hard the last few weeks.  They are pleased to announce that their eggs should be hatching anyday now.  You can watch them hatch here.

 

      5. AM Carpool drivers:

 

• Do not let your student out of the car until staff is out front to receive them and they have given you the signal to let students out of the car.  Students are not permitted to stand outside because they are unsupervised.  As a courtesy, when carpool staff get outside and situated (usually around 6:55) they let students out of the car to stand under the covering until the bell rings.  99% of our carpool drivers have somewhere else to be once their student exits so please help us help everyone.

• Also, do not come through the staff parking lot instead of going through the beginning of the carpool line.  This also is a safety hazard as we have staff unloading materials and trying to get into the building and be in place for supervision.

• We will be having a police presence periodically to prevent illegal and unsafe turns.  Going all the way down to Buffalo Rd and making a legal turn is the safest way.

ATHLETICS:

 

Fall Sports will begin tryouts on Tuesday, September 5th. Football, Cheerleading, Volleyball, and Girls Soccer are offered. Any student interested in trying out, must register on DragonflyMax.com. Complete instructions are available on the school website. All items must be approved/uploaded prior to tryouts or optional pre-season workouts. Please e-mail Mr. Von Hoene with any questions. NRMS PTA Online Spiritwear Sale  (August 21-September 15)

Spiritwear is HERE! Our NRMS PTA is sponsoring our NRMS spiritwear sale and will run from August 21-September 15th. We have an assortment of logo designs/colors in shirts, hoodies, crewnecks, v necks, and have car magnets for sale! Sport that NRMS pride in school, school events, and in our community! Portion of proceeds will benefit our NRMS PTA. All orders will be distributed out at the same time after we come back from track out in October.

PTA Reflections COMING (run from September-October)

The 2023-2024 Reflections theme this year is "I am Hopeful Because..." 

The Reflections is a national arts contest that welcomes schools with PTAs to participate in. This program embraces students' creativity and recognizes the many talents of students in these categories: dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts. Your student is invited to participate in any of these categories. This is an excellent opportunity for all of our NRMS students to participate in and to shine. We will have judging of all submissions at the school level before we look at county level. Our chairpersons from PTA will be sending out more specific information. We hope your student will join our PTA Reflections contest! All student participants will be recognized for their achievement!

PTA Membership Drive

Want to be able to support the school and not sure how? Join the PTA! By just joining, you are helping support advocacy and support for our students, teachers, and families. Our PTA strives to support our school to meet its needs but at the same time try to make it fun for everyone! We fundraise to fund events we provide for the staff and students at the school as well as need volunteers for pta sponsored events. There is no commitment and help is voluntary through the whole school year. By joining the PTA and being a PTA member, you have the capability of voting in meetings as a member as well as exercising your voice in support for both your child and the school. We will provide opportunities through the school year where you can help and share in the engagement and meet others. We love to meet you!

Hola familias de Raven,

 

Espero que todos hayan tenido un gran fin de semana. Finalmente tuvimos una semana normal y todo salió bien. Los niños se están acomodando y haciendo un trabajo fabuloso. Lea a continuación para conocer las actualizaciones.

Nuevo esta semana

 

1. Estudiantes completadosambos diagnóstico iReady de matemáticas y lectura. Deberían estar completando lecciones en casa. Se requiere tener DOS lecciones aprobadas cada semana en ambas materias. Preguntarle a su estudiante si ha completado su iReady será extremadamente útil.

 

2. Los interinos saldrán esta semana. Mire el progreso de su hijo y si tiene alguna pregunta, comuníquese con el maestro de su hijo. Powerschool es una excelente manera de mantenerse informado y mantenerse al día con el progreso de su estudiante.

 

3. Debería haber recibido un mensaje si nos faltan los 7 de su estudiante^el vacunas de grado. Si no tenemos estos registros antes del 22 de agosto, su estudiante no podrá asistir a la escuela hasta que hayamos recibido estos registros.       5. Conductores de viaje compartido AM:

 

• No deje que su estudiante salga del automóvil hasta que el personal esté en el frente para recibirlos y le hayan dado la señal para que los estudiantes salgan del automóvil. A los estudiantes no se les permite pararse afuera porque no están supervisados. Como cortesía, cuando el personal del viaje compartido sale y se ubica (generalmente alrededor de las 6:55) dejan que los estudiantes bajen del auto para pararse debajo de la cubierta hasta que suene la campana. El 99% de nuestros conductores de viajes compartidos tienen otro lugar donde estar una vez que sus estudiantes salen, así que ayúdenos a ayudar a todos.

• Además, no pase por el estacionamiento del personal en lugar de pasar por el comienzo de la fila de vehículos compartidos. Esto también es un peligro para la seguridad, ya que tenemos personal descargando materiales y tratando de ingresar al edificio y estar en el lugar para la supervisión.

ATLETISMO:

Venta de ropa de espíritu en línea de la PTA de NRMS (del 21 de agosto al 15 de septiembre)

¡La ropa de espíritu está AQUÍ! Nuestro PTA de NRMS está patrocinando nuestra venta de ropa de espíritu de NRMS y se llevará a cabo del 21 de agosto al 15 de septiembre. ¡Tenemos una variedad de diseños de logotipos/colores en camisetas, sudaderas con capucha, cuello redondo, cuello en V y tenemos imanes para autos a la venta! Deporte que NRMS se enorgullece de la escuela, los eventos escolares y de nuestra comunidad. Parte de los ingresos beneficiará a nuestra PTA de NRMS. PTA Reflections PRÓXIMAMENTE (desde septiembre hasta octubre)

El tema de Reflexiones 2023-2024 de este año es "Tengo esperanza porque..."

The Reflections es un concurso artístico nacional que da la bienvenida a las escuelas con PTA para participar. Este programa fomenta la creatividad de los estudiantes y reconoce los muchos talentos de los estudiantes en estas categorías: coreografía de danza, producción de películas, literatura, composición musical, fotografía y artes visuales. Su estudiante está invitado a participar en cualquiera de estas categorías. Esta es una excelente oportunidad para que todos nuestros estudiantes de NRMS participen y brillen. Tendremos una evaluación de todas las presentaciones a nivel de escuela antes de mirar a nivel de condado. Nuestros presidentes de la PTA enviarán información más específica. ¡Esperamos que su estudiante se una a nuestro concurso de Reflexiones de la PTA! ¡Todos los estudiantes participantes serán reconocidos por sus logros!

Campaña de membresía de la PTA

¿Quieres poder apoyar a la escuela y no sabes cómo?¡Únase a la PTA!
