Summer School 2022
Summer School Session Dates: July 6—Aug 4 Classes are held Monday—Friday
Registration LinkThe grade earned in GradPoint Credit Recovery Summer School will NOT count toward the GPA but will appear on the transcript. All previous grades remain on the transcript and are calculated in the GPA.
Students will need to have to access to technology and bring their Chromebook in order to participate in this year's summer school.
Daily Schedule: Morning Session 8:00 AM—11:30 AM Afternoon Session 12:00 AM—3:30 PM

***Please note that submitting this form does not guarantee a seat in Summer School. After all applications have been considered and evaluated based upon enrollment criteria, you will be notified no later than Tuesday, July 5th if you are selected to attend.

READING THE INFORMATION IN THIS BULLETIN IS VITAL TO THE SUCCESS OF THE SUMMER SCHOOL STUDENTS. ALL PARENTS AND STUDENTS MUST READ THE CONTENT AND SIGN THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FORM ATTACHED.
Welcome to Athens Drive Magnet High School for the 2022 Summer School program.
Parents and students must read this bulletin together and discuss its contents. Students will be held accountable for the information contained in this bulletin as well as the Code of Student Conduct for the Wake County Public School System.
Parents are urged to monitor their student’s progress regularly. The Site Coordinator, Mr. Donti Coats may be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
SESSION DATES: July 6th – Aug 4th
Classes are held Monday – Friday.
One day in summer school is equivalent to approximately two weeks of regular school. This makes clear the necessity for perfect attendance.
TWO (2) absences are allowed for all courses. Upon the third absence, the student will be dropped from the course with a grade of “F” and no credit will be earned.
Please notify the Summer School Coordinator when your child is absent. The office will make every effort to contact parents each time a student is absent. Please make sure that you closely monitor your child’s attendance.
Summer School begins promptly at 8:00 a.m.
The school day for GradPoint classes is 3.5 hours in length.
AM session begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m.. Bus transportation is not available.
PM session begins at 12:00 p.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. Bus transportation is not available.
Transportation will not be provided for 2021-22 Summer School .
Students are expected to adhere to Code of Student Conduct of the Wake County Public School System. Students are reminded of the following policies and guidelines:
Students referred to the Summer School Coordinator for disciplinary action may be suspended or may be required to spend time after school the day following the offense.
Major infractions, as determined by the Coordinator, will result in expulsion from the Summer School program.
Notification of summer school grades is mailed to students at the end of the Summer School session. This takes the place of an official report card. Parents need to monitor progress on a daily basis. Grades will be sent to the PowerSchool Data Manager of the school for entry into student’s transcript.
