SoS: Signs of Suicide

SoS Signs of Suicide Prevention Program (Grade 7)

The SoS program is a research-based suicide prevention and depression awareness training that students receive in 7th, 9th, and 12th grades. The goal is to educate students on the warning signs of depression and suicide and how to seek help for themselves or another person if needed. The Student Services and Healthful Living Departments will deliver the county-mandated SoS Prevention program to 7th graders on the following dates:

  • Jaggers/Zappia: November 6 (B Day) and November 8 (A Day)
  • Johnson/Brockman: December 5 (B Day) and December 6 (A Day)

A letter outlining the details of the SOS program, as well as a brief screening questionnaire for you to complete with your child, will be sent home through your child’s healthful living classes.  If you do not want your child to participate in this program, please sign and return the letter to the school.
