Otter Splash for the Weeks of April 13-26
Hello, Oak Grove Family, Versión en español aquí, النسخة باللغة العربية هنا, Toleo la Kiswahili hapa, Версия на русском здесь, Versiunea in Romana
Wow! What a busy few weeks we’ve had at Oak Grove! Thank you to all of our families who helped us celebrate two incredible members of our team—Ms. Pyles, our amazing media specialist, and Ms. Tysor, our dedicated assistant principal. Your thoughtful cards, heartfelt hugs, and special treats made Media Coordinator Day and National Assistant Principals Week truly meaningful. Both Ms. Pyles and Ms. Tysor felt so appreciated and loved by our Otter community.
Just a reminder that there will be NO SCHOOL on Friday, April 18th. We hope all of our Oak Grove families enjoy a relaxing and refreshing three-day weekend!
On Thursday, we had the honor of hosting Representative Julie von Haefen, Board Member Lynn Edmonds, and Area Superintendent Jonathan Enns at Oak Grove. Our incredible student ambassadors led a tour of the school, where guests had the opportunity to observe 5th-grade students using Spheros to navigate their covered wagons across western territory trails, engage in vertical learning activities, and visit classrooms to witness the outstanding teaching and learning happening throughout our building. They also visited our specialist areas and heard directly from students as they shared their favorite memories from Kindergarten through fifth grade. A special highlight of the visit was meeting Hank, our therapy dog, and learning about his positive impact on our students' academic and social-emotional well-being. Representative von Haefen, Board Member Edmonds, and Area Superintendent Enns were truly impressed by the supportive and engaging learning environment at Oak Grove.
We ended Thursday on a high note with a terrific chorus concert performed by our talented Otter Singers. Their performance was nothing short of amazing, and we are so proud of the hard work and dedication they put into preparing for the event. It was a joy to see our students shine on stage and share their musical talents with our school community. We truly have some incredibly gifted students here at Oak Grove!
If you have a child joining us for kindergarten in July or know of families that has school age children, please make sure to go ahead and register and turn in enrollment paperwork as soon as possible! We are working hard to prepare for the start of the next school year, and having accurate enrollment information is critical. Thank you for your help in this matter!
