April 15, 2021 - Message from Principal
Lead Mine Elementary Parents,
First, please know that all students are safe.
I wanted to inform you about an incident that occurred on campus this morning.
During morning arrival, the driver and safety assistant of a vendor transportation vehicle reported feeling ill and smelling a strong odor.
They were taken to the school office, and we called 911 to request medical attention.
EMS officials arrived and checked the driver and assistant, as well as the three students who were transported in the vehicle. One adult was taken to the hospital. The three students were cleared to remain at school. The vehicle was assessed and at that time, there was no carbon dioxide present in the vehicle.
The call to 911 also prompted responses from police, fire and hazardous materials personnel. Despite the commotion, school operations continued.
We are grateful for the rapid response from emergency personnel.
Thank you for your continued support of our school.
