End of Year Activities:
Please be advised that as we are coming to the end of school, your children may be participating in some year-end activities and celebrations. We are very excited about these event opportunities but still wish to maintain a safe and secure campus.
Therefore, we are asking student family members who wish to visit our school for any activities in the last two weeks of school, to register with their child's teacher at least 24 hours prior to the event before attending (please also keep the number of family members attending down to 2 in the interest of parking and accommodations).
Any family member who has not registered and tries to attend the day of, will not be allowed into our school.
YMCA CAMP HIGH HOPES (on our campus this summer):
Wakefield Parents,
My name is Mike "Ant-Man" Brown and I am the Assistant Director of Camp High Hopes at the Kerr Family YMCA.
Camp High Hopes is Camp High Hopes is a summer day camp subsidized by donations to the YMCA's Annual We Build People Campaign. Campers participate in character-development activities, literacy instruction, sports and swim lessons. Each day, children receive a nutritious breakfast and lunch!
Camp High Hopes also runs a Kindergarten Readiness program that you all could benefit from! This smaller camp-within-a-camp model is for our rising kindergartners. We take special care of our youngest campers and help prepare them for kindergarten and the additional responsibilities that school brings. Our staff to child ratios are smaller for this camp too, to allow for more individual attention.
This camp runs for 8 weeks, starting June 20th and ending August 12th! We go on field trips, have spirit weeks, and, of course, we have a lot of fun! This camp will be located at Wakefield Elementary and runs from 8:00-5:30 (along with bussing).
The camp costs only $10 per week!
If you are interested, the first step is to create an YMCA account by clicking on this link. That IS NOT a link to the register, but the first step in the registration process. After you have created a account please email me at mike.brown@ymcatriangle.org!
If you decide to register your rising kindergartner, please only sign up for weeks they would attend consistently. We will have a waiting list and if they miss more than three days, their spot can be removed for the summer!
That's all for now !!!!! Goooooo Eagles!!!!
