Thank you all for sharing your love and appreciation to our teachers this past week.  Our PTA went above and beyond to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week!  This coming week is the last week to complete the WCPSS Panorama Survey and we welcome your feedback.  Please read the information below for important updates. 

 

The new information below is listed in green, and the repeated information is listed in blue.

 

Yearbooks: Yearbooks were sent home on Friday.  Please submit payment $17 to purchase a yearbook.  You can either send in cash or a check made payable to Strawbridge.   If you are not interested a yearbook, please return it to your child’s teacher by May 30th.

 

Panorama Survey: Help us make your child’s school experience as positive and beneficial as possible by giving honest, thoughtful responses to the questions in our family survey till  May 16th. This is a district-led survey provided to all families and we welcome your feedback.

 

Night of the Arts: Our Night of the Arts will be May 13th beginning at 5pm. Take a look at the times for each group performance.  Artwork from every student will be on display throughout our building. Please join us to celebrate our leaders in so many different ways!

 

Silver Tray Luncheon: We will celebrate AB Combs Day on May 16th with a school-wide Silver Tray Luncheon. The cafeteria will be adorned with tablecloths and centerpieces, and the orchestra from Enloe HS will be playing during lunches. Just like a typical day, students will be able to bring their lunch from home or buy lunch from the cafeteria.  We need volunteers to help on May 16th to set tables and prepare for various classes.  

 

Celebrate Success/Student-Led Conferences:  Please join us on Friday, May 23rd to celebrate our many accomplishments of the school year. We will share data, our data tracking, and awards with one another! Student Led Conferences will take place on Friday, May 23rd, at the specified times below in students’ classrooms. We look forward to seeing you there!

• Kindergarten: 12:30-1:00
• 1st grade: 11:15-11:45
• 2nd grade: 1:45-2:15
• 3rd grade: 11:45-12:15
• 4th grade: 9:45- 10:15
• 5th grade: 11:30-12:00

 

Senior Walk: Please help us spread the word!  Combs has a tradition of welcoming back high school seniors who are Combs alum for a Senior Walk school-wide clapout.  It will be held on Friday, June 6th at 1:30pm.  Thank you for sharing with any former gators you may know.

 

5th grade graduation:  We will host our 5th grade graduation on Thursday, June 12th at 9am at the school amphitheater.  Families are asked to bring their own lawn chairs to enjoy this outdoor event.  In the event of rain, graduation will be moved to the school gym and each student will be allotted 2 tickets for guests to attend.

 

Students not returning for next year: It’s hard to believe, but we are in the beginning stages of preparing for the next school year.  Our teacher allotments depend on the number of students we have registered.  If you know your child will not be returning to Combs for the next school year, please email our data manager, Ms. Sarah Ferrell, at sferrell2@wcpss.net.

Volunteers for Glow Party: A big THANK YOU to everyone who helped us reach our goal during the Basket Raffle and Silent Auction! We are excited to celebrate with another glow party for the kids and could use some volunteers to help make it a success!  Glow Party is planned for Thursday, May 29th and you can sign up here to volunteer..

Volunteers for Art Show:  We are also looking for volunteers to help prepare for the upcoming Art Show.  We need volunteers on a variety of days, and you can view the sign-up here.
