A special thank you to our wonderful PTA and volunteers who supported the Inflatable Party on Friday. Students received this special treat for their fundraising efforts with the Gator Gallop.   It was wonderful to see so many families who joined us for the Bracket Breakfast this week, too.  We are so grateful for your continued support!

 

Based on feedback, new information below is listed in green, and information that is repeated is listed in blue.

 

Carpool:  I continue to plead with all families to adhere to the expectations with carpool.  Please DO NOT TURN LEFT when leaving campus and DO NOT BLOCK the intersection at Kaplan Drive and Lorimer Road.  Drivers should not U-turn in the middle of the road.  I have received numerous emails and phone calls this week from concerned neighbors and families.  Please help us keep ALL students safe.

 

Spring Break:  Spring Break is coming up next week.  We will not have school the week of March 31st thru April 4th.  Students will return to campus on Monday, April 7th.

 

Virtual Principal Chat: Please join us on Friday, April 11th, for a virtual Principal Chat with Mrs. Sexton. This will begin at 8:45am.  This will be our last Principal Chat for this school year.  We hope you can join us!

 

After-School LEGO Activity:  We are excited to offer an after-school STEM Lego class from April to June.  You can view class information and sign-up information here.

 

Wax Museum:  Our 5th grade students will share their 5th grade Wax Museum on April 11th.  Students from all grade levels will be able to participate and are encouraged to bring coins to “activate” student leaders.  Money collected will benefit a charity that supports Western North Carolina.

 

Single Subject Acceleration Information:   Parents may request testing for their child to be considered for Single Subject Acceleration from March 10 - March 28. Information can be found here.  Parents with students in traditional calendar schools can only request testing during the March 10 - March 28 window using this link.  Please use the link that states 2024-25 Test Request: Traditional Calendar and Year-Round Track 2, 3, and 4.  Requests must be received by 5:00 pm on March 28. 

 

Math Bee: Families, if you received an invitation to the Math Bee Awards assembly, please join us on Monday, March 24th, at 8:45am.  If you have any questions, please email Kate Garrison (kgarrison@wcpss.net).

Volunteers for Art Show:  We are also looking for volunteers to help prepare for the upcoming Art Show.  We need volunteers on a variety of days, and you can view the sign-up here.

Volunteers for Basket Raffle: We're getting ready for our annual Basket Raffle Fundraiser on April 15th and would love your help! There are plenty of volunteer opportunities available so please check out the sign-up here. Your support makes this event a success. Thank you!
